Kiefer Charged with DUI

TMZ has learned that the Los Angeles County City Attorney's office has charged Kiefer Sutherland with two misdemeanor counts of DUI.

The actor has been charged with one count of driving under the influence and one count with driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or above after being arrested early Tuesday morning.

The City Attorney's office also asked that Sutherland's 2004 probation be revoked.

He will be arraigned on these charges on October 16 in front of Judge Michael Sauer, ironically that's the same judge who threw the book at Paris Hilton. Sauer sinks Bauer?? We'll see!

If convicted on both charges, Sutherland could face up to a total of a year and a half in jail and be forced to pay a $1000 fine.

16. I say again and again.....if you are a celebrity or anyone and you drink why can't you call a taxi? You know they have the money....so I think they are just stupid. I wander if STUPIDITY is a crime...........welll now that I have thought about it it couldn't be cause the jails would be full

18. The LA court system is over loaded with serious crimes. I'm not saying a DUI is not serious, it is, but take into account that the county has over 100 different gangs, homelessness thats out of control, and drug that are ramped, the jails are over crowded. No matter where you live, the best atty usually wins.
I lived in LA for a few years, not far from where this all went down. The gangs were moving up to sunset when I moved away. They were placing motorcycle cops on nearly every corner in the sunset biz district

20. people that leave a hateful message about kiefer going to jail must not watch 24.kiefer knows he missed up.he never should have been drinking and driving.Maybe he has to go to jail but i dont think it should be for a long time.i think tmz should let up a little because they dont read minds and they dont know what is going to happen in oct.So why dont we wait and see what happens.I am sure everybody makes mistakes.NOBODY IS PERFECT? maybe tmz might be a little more nice about this.

24. Looks like he'll probably get the book thrown at him. Even if he was innocent, Judge Sauer is looking to make a name for himself and will NOT go lightly (not that I blame him in this case). Bad Keifer! bad bad puppy!
