Celebrity Justice
Kiefer Charged with DUI

TMZ has learned that the Los Angeles County City Attorney's office has charged Kiefer Sutherland with two misdemeanor counts of DUI.

The actor has been charged with one count of driving under the influence and one count with driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or above after being arrested early Tuesday morning.

The City Attorney's office also asked that Sutherland's 2004 probation be revoked.

He will be arraigned on these charges on October 16 in front of Judge Michael Sauer, ironically that's the same judge who threw the book at Paris Hilton. Sauer sinks Bauer?? We'll see!

If convicted on both charges, Sutherland could face up to a total of a year and a half in jail and be forced to pay a $1000 fine.

31. U turns legal in parts of LA.....

Yes, they are legal in "parts of LA". Specifically in any intersection unless it's posted as "no U turn," and never in the middle of the block. This is true throughout all of California.

33. They make too big of a deal about DUI. Who really gives a Rats Azz if he has a few drinks and drives home, not my business.

35. What a complete loser. I hope he goes to jail. 24 is one of my favorite programs but I think they should fire him and get someone else to play Jack.

37. As if 24 needed anymore problems....it's been shut down twice because of "creative problems" (they did start filming recently), but now their star is a drunk.

Ugh....

39. The hole gets deeper & deeper until you decide for yourself to drop the shovel. You determine your own bottom or outside forces will do it for you.

The alternative is jail, institutions or an early death. Hopefully you can find your way out of the squirrel cage & quit repeating the insanity over & over again. Their is a way out , it is about being honest with yourself. To thine own self be true & the rest will take care of it self...

What do you have to lose beside your addiction by following these suggested steps?

THE TWELVE STEPS
OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol — that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

43. Kiefer is a rarity in Hollywood. He's a nice guy. What he did was bad. Doesn't make him bad. We see stars all the time who take advantage of their status and who think they're above the law. I don't for one minute believe Kiefer is like that. He will accept his punishment like a man and will give himself a harder time than any of you. Show some compassion - not leniency, just compassion.

45. Dear "Kieferisagoodguywhodidabadthing:"

Obviously, he DOES think he's above the law if he has 4 DUIs and just keeps driving drunk.
