Interesting to see South Jersey native Kelly Ripa cheering on the Mets when it appears they are going to complete a historic collapse and lose the NL East to the Phillies, and while Kelly consistently proclaims her love for the Eagles, she abandoned the Phils for the Mets.
The irony? Kelly got her start in show business by appearing on the late 1980s USA show Dance Party USA, hosted by Dave Raymond -- the original guy in the Phillie Phanatic suit (and who helped deveop the Phanatic's distinctive character)!
