Secondly, she is a Latin American..NOT an American!!! Thirdly, we have resources here in the USA (whether or not that are allocated and used appropriately- you can thank the politicians you voted in office for alot of that). Lastly, IT'S HER MONEY to do what she damn well pleases- get over it! 70. I applaud Shakira for her caring spirit and generosity in helping to provide so much money to aid with the natural disasters in Nicaragua and Peru. These are not wealthy countries. Shakira sets an example and draws attention to the needs of people in countries that are not wealthy as ours is. Also, the educational projects are to be applauded. Children are the future, and educating the children of today will give a better future for them and for their countries.

As an entertainer, Shakira has long towered over Britney, Jessica and their ilk in that her music is more intelligent (and she writes her own material), and she even learned the English language in order to compose hits for the North American market such as "Objection." In the interviews I've seen with her, she always seems to be bright and perceptive. This action makes me admire her all the more. Congrats, Shakira.

75. Bravo Shakira...... This is a wonderful thing that your foundation is doing. I truly hope that the money makes it to the people that it is designated for. Anyone who is against this should do the following. Pick a charity that speaks to your heart and conscience. Write a check, give cash or donate your time to the Charity of your choice. That way you can make a difference too. And shut up about others people charity work.

This lady has earned her place on the international stage. She has done so with style and originality. And She has shown herselft to be caring and responsible for others. A true star.
