Britney Can Drive ... In Louisiana

Britney Spears does not have a valid California driver's license -- she does have one in LA, but someone should tell her that LA is Louisiana, not Los Angeles!

TMZ did some digging and found that Brit has a valid license in her home state of Louisiana, but she doesn't live there. A rep for the DMV tells TMZ that in California, you have 10 days to apply for a license after arriving here as a resident, and Brit never completed the process. Examinations is hard, y'all! She did, however, appear in Louisiana in December of 2005 to renew her license, which is valid through December of 2009.

The L.A. City Attorney recently charged Britney with driving without a license. TMZ caught the unlicensed Spears driving through a Malibu parking lot this past Saturday, surrounded by paparazzi.

32. What's sadder than the fact that she lost her kids is the obvious fact that she DIDN'T CARE ENOUGH TO FOLLOW THE RULES THAT WOULD HELP HER TO KEEP HER KIDS. Tells me she cares very little about the kids.

34. If Britney is driving without a valid CA license, that means that she also doesn't have car insurance. I agree with the above post that if she was so worried about losing her kids, she wouldn't have kept up with her poor behavior. I like having a good time too, but if it came time to choose between that or losing my babies, the good times are OVER. She makes it so easy for people to trash her. She's out messing up day after day after day. I'm wondering if she hasn't begun to do all of the things the judge ordered her to do. Ignoring what a judge orders doesn't make him happy.

36. i don't think there's much difference between Britney and K-fed...poor kids, and about Britney...she needs to grow up and take the responsibilty. Well it is said she is ready to come back, but hearing her new song" gimme more" is a torture, anyone can do a song like that, she barely sings in it... and what the hell...

37. Brittany Spears needs help. Not what she wants to do. But some good olf fashioned help. Put in a reform setting and taught the facts of life. I mean, no drinking, no phone, and serious controls. Maybe after she spends some TIME, she will think what she is doing to herself and to her children. and NO DRIVERS LICENSE, no matter what state she is in. She can afford a driver for where ever she has to go.

38. But if she bought her cars in CA [does she have CA plates on them?] then she would have had to have shown proof of insurance. I suppose this insurance could have been underwritten in Louisiana, though that would seem strange. Or maybe the cars aren't registered in her name.

39. This a first...the law can take your kids, if you dive w/kids & you don't have a valid driver license in the state your living. The Law needs to find a better excuse than that!

43. On you are so great TMZ. Good of you to report first that Ms. Spears has no drivers license in Californa. Perhaps now you can dig up some real dirt on the now richer, x-gold digger husband of hers. Anything the press is focusing on someone, they loose. It sucks that you have contributed so clearly to the overall catastrophe of Ms. Spears. Now, do you job, equitably and focus on her Federline! He is not lilly white and has quite a past and if you would do your job, you would know that he isn't the best choice for custody.
