Divatastic Patti LaBelle knows when to strut her stuff and when to duck and cover. Cameras caught belle LaBelle as she headed into her NYC hotel, cloaked in a ... well, a cloak.
Hours later, LaBelle had a new attitude -- and looked stunning as she hit up Russell Simmon's birthday bash. The legendary songstress graciously explained her earlier hide-and-seek episode, saying, "I was cute, but I wasn't cute," and then happily posed for pics.

19. I work in music entertainment, live shows, and Patti LaBelle has been by leaps and bounds, one of the kindest, most respectful, on time, unDiva like performers I have ever dealt with. Unlike many others, Diana Ross, Whitney, Gladis Knight, who think the show won't go on without them, Patti LaBelle treats everyone on the production staff with grace and kindness. I didn't see the other piece of tape but with this woman, I'd give her a pass.....

20. I will never ever have one ounce of respect for Patti LaBelle since seeing the "Dog Whisperer" show displaying her heartlessness and near neglect of her dogs. Disgusting.

23. Patti Labelle the greatest singer I have ever heard. Still sounds good well into her sixties. If I had one singer to save my life with her voice it would be Patti Labelle in her Prime. Absolutely amazing. She is a living legend. Thank God Britney kids are in a hopefully more stable enviroment. I don't get the comparison between her and Patti Labelle. Patti is the baddest B vocally. A living legend. Long live Patti Labelle.
