Keri Russell Shows Britney How to Be a Mom

If the judge in the Unfitney Spears* custody case wants to show the poptastrophe how a real mother takes care of her kids, he might want to start with Keri Russell and her day out in Manhattan yesterday.

Note the protective baby sling and the hand on the baby's head to cradle his soft cranium. Also, a spot of shopping at Yoya, an urban babe-boutique on a quiet West Village street -- not pap-infested Robertson Boulevard. And check the sensible MILF jeans, a far cry from Britney's bum-baring bimbowear.

Later, she sweetly but firmly fended off a persistent paparazzo, rather than begging for his attention, and then made sure that lil' River was safely strapped in to the back of a real family car -- a Volkswagen Touareg -- rather than letting them twist in the wind in a droptop.

Felicity is all growed up!

17. Hey OMG, TMZ didn't need to anything to poor sad little ol Britney. They just happened to be there when she did it to herself. I pray you never inflict your cromosomes on the rest of the world if you can actually support her lame attempt at parenting. If you hadn't picked up on this yet, it looks a lot like Brit has gotten pretty good at finding the paps, not the other way around.

19. I loved Felicity and Keri Russell. I think she's a good actress and certainly seems to be a great mom! She's doing what most mom's do: being a mom! There's nothing to compare here to Spears, career or lifestyle. I do wish this site would show more of something other than Spears. We all get that she's got serious issues and we all know she's losing the kids over them. move on TMZ!

20. Britney still is a beauty. Her kids are real cuties , also.
Her sister Jamie is the cutest person I've ever seen.

21. First: This problem has been brewing long before Brittney ever married. The first concern needs to be for the safety of the children, who did not ask to be born into this disfunctional mess of a family. Thank you CPS for doing your job. Second, anyone can see that this is a girl in a lot of pain. The buzzing of the hair, the non wearing of underwear, the partying with Paris Hilton and others, the drugs and drinking, the bashing of cars......etc are all symptoms of the larger problem. Why someone hasn't stepped in and had her committed for treatment is the question. Someone in charge needs to grow a pair and get her the long term help that she needs. Someone needs to see the difference between lifestyle and a life.
Sad Situation for all

22. "who is she"? You people seriously don't know a celebrity outside the ones who do drugs, and drink and mess up their lives. This woman is an actually actress.

23. Good mothers are not like curious zoo creatures people. It's just a mother taking care of her child. Not worth news.

24. What's with the MILF comments? There's still a double standard at work here, you don't see DILF do you? Why is it that once a woman becomes a parent she is labelled forever. Madonna, now referred to as Material Mom, Julia Roberts, an oscar-winning actress now called everything maternal-related but rarely referred to as an actress. Bowflex runs a commercial where a woman with a great body is referred to as a grandmother but the older guy with the great body referred to as a rock star. I wouldn't have that product in my house if you gave it to me. This MILF garbage implies that yeah, she's had kids but I'd do her anyway. Charming, is this site frequented only by teenage boys?

25. good for you keri! i never watched your show but i think you're a beautiful and caring mother, which that skank is NOT. this is how children should be taken care of. and don't give me that crap that trainwreck brit was inexperienced. we ALL are our first time around but that is why we have people around us to teach us and help us. unless you're an idiot and push everyone away. oopsie~

26. Whatever people, you can't blame TMZ or anyone else for someone's thoughts, actions or decisions. It's time our nation step up and take responsibility for OURSELVES. Stop pointing fingers.

27. If it's so quiet, how did you find her? I'm sure the paps can find whoever they want. You guys just know people are more likely to want to read about Brit than other stars.

28. Kerri Russell obviously knows how to conduct herself with dignity and self-respect but I still find it disturbing that she can't even take her baby out to shop without being photographed. Just because she's famous shouldn't mean her child is fair game for the cameras. I credit TMZ for pointing out the way she handled the pap but she shouldn't have had to deal with this, she wasn't doing anything other than going about her business. I'd really like to see the laws changed to protect minors from being photographed without their parent's permission. A person should have the right to make a living as a performer without being expected to put up with this sort of thing.

29. Unfortunately they sign their privacy away when they choose to be in the public's eye and get paid by the same.

30. I saw her waiting for an elevator at work. She was talking to her baby and seemed totally in love with her baby. I bought my 13 yr old into work and told her to enjoy it all because it goes so fast and before you know it they are 13. She laughed and said that she would. She looked like any normal mom. Hair in a messy bun, no make up and happy.
