Vick Scores with PETA

Michael VickPETA announced today that Michael Vick, the embattled Atlanta Falcons quarterback who plead guilty to dog fighting charges, completed an eight-hour class in empathy and animal protection. A little late, no?

Vick took the course at PETA's Norfolk, Virginia headquarters on September 18, was given home study materials, and came back a third time to take a test. PETA is asking the NFL to make empathy training mandatory for all players.

If you would like to repair your public image following an embarrassing federal trial, you can find all the materials at PETA.org.

92. I see there are a lot of hateful people out there. If anyone has not sinned, you throw the first stone. Try practicing forgiveness, I know there is something that you need to be forgiven for. ( Your hateful attitudes for one). I f he is atempting you make amends for his past, who are you to judge? I love animals and don't condone vicious acts of any kind ( including hunting them for sport). So practice some compassion and don't allow others to read your ugly side.

94. since when does PETA have an influence on ANYTHING?? I figured all they do is take emo teenager's money and used it to pay off celebrities for being naked....

"PETA: Where only women are treated like animals!!"

Funny how more attention is given to ANIMALS than actual human being children who are deprived of empathy on a daily basis...

96. I never thought PETA would sell out! How much money did he give your PETA? Whatever it the amount it's not enough. There are years of animal abuse involved and it's not going to be fixed with a single 8 hr course. This is a man that tortured and killed animals for his own amusement, and he used excessive cruelty to do it. Anyone that is capable of this type of cruelty is a cold individual with no heart or soul, no morales or conscience and can not be fixed in and 8 hr course. Again, shame on you PETA for selling out. I would put it to all of you that contribute to PETA to stop and make the same contributions to your local Humane Society or SPCA.

97. He can keep the certification card he gets from Peta with the "get out of jail free" card from whatever church he is going to go to next-all convicts do it. 1st, blame it all on drugs/booze and go to "rehab". 2nd, seek "counseling". 3rd, buy some Jayzus. Tired, tired recipe.

Posted at 4:23AM on Oct 3rd 2007 by Vick is not gonna change

98. PETA gave Vick an "A"???? That "A" better stand for "A"sshole, "A"nimal slaughterer, and (thank God), "A"bsent from the NFL; You can't teach empathy; you either possess it or you don't....... he's missing some significant chromosomes, and he deserves to be slathered in honey and thrown into a pit of his own dogs who haven't eaten in a few days........

104. 8 hours of classes for Michael Vick is not enough! He needs to be taught more on how not to mistreat dogs!

105. as an atlantan. I was one of the first to call for his head. But some of you people are just downright mean. Everybody makes mistakes, some of us make horrible ones. It shows some character on Vicks part to be willing to even talk with PETA. What he did is no doubt horrific, cruel, & sick, but if he is taking steps to redeem himself, I think thats good & I'm happy to hear it. I am a pitt bull owner. They are truly awesome dogs. Unless you have actually owned one please don't speak on it. Some of you people are so evil. Maybe you can't teach empathy, but it's true that lots of people really don't understand that dogs do feel joy & sadness ect.. He deserves a little credit.
