Eldest Hanson Hospitalized

TMZ has learned that Isaac Hanson, 27, the eldest of the family trio of the band Hanson, has been hospitalized suffering from a pulmonary embolism, thus postponing their concert in Tulsa tonight.

As the Tulsa World first reported, tonight's show "is definitely canceled." The paper spoke with Ken Philips, the band's publicist, who said Isaac was admitted to the hospital earlier today with severe shoulder and chest pain. "This could be serious, but nobody knows just yet," and added, "We are hoping for the best."

A pulmonary embolism is a serious condition. Blood clots travel to the lungs and can result in death if not treated immediately. Isaac has been hospitalized for this condition before.

Hanson, the family band that drove the kids crazy with the hit "MMMBop," is from Tulsa.

76. A family member of mine had the same thing - blood clots lodging in the Pulm. Artery. This is often misdiagnosed as Asthma or Bronchitis. She was finally correctly diagnosed with Pulm. Hypertension, which is often overlooked as a cause. Some of the symptoms include breathlessness, coughs (little bits of blood), swollen ankles. If you have these symptoms, get checked for Pulm. Hypertension.

77. Better make sure this kid doesn't have Factor V (roman numeral 5) Leiden, a hereditary blood disorder that causes blood to clot too much. Let's hope to hospital tests for this disorder so he can his clotting time regulated.

78. Like them or not, Hanson has more musical talent and ability than most of the singers today. They play their own instruments, write their own music and produce their own music. That is very rare in todays musical market. Most of the time the music execs pick a person who has the 'look' they are looking for and then has them sing someone elses music while someone else plays and then overproduces them because their voices arent that great.

81. This is so sad! I just saw them sunday in Chicago and they were amazing! Isaac and his brothers are some of the nicest people anyone could meet! They are genuinely talented and humble. I wish Isaac the best of luck in his recovery and hopefully this won't happen again. My thoughts go out to his wife and child in this scary time!!

82. I wonder if he has been tested for Anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome....it causes clots like he seems to be having.

86. i'm a vascular sonographer and we do ultrasounds for blood clots, so i know exactly how serious this is! they should put a filter in him that would be the best choice and put him on a blood thinner. best wishes isaac! i love u!!!!
