Sanjaya -- Loser of the Year

He's been, thankfully, out of the limelight since "Idol" ended -- but Sanjaya was seen in Hollywood last night, hair and all.

The horrendous crooner was a guest of horror honor at the FOX Reality Channel Really Awards, walking away with the coveted Favorite Loser trophy.

Though he didn't exactly win big inside, at least one person still likes him -- a girl was heard shouting, "You're the hottest." No word on if she had 20/20 vision.

16. YAY!! Im so happy for him. Now he has 2 awards. Teen choice, and Favorite Loser.

17. Are you people teenage meth users who are sitting at home? Sanji had one good singing opportunity on AI, at the beginning. He was horrible during the voting portion of the show. Everyone knows that people voted for him as a joke. He completely ruined the other contestant's opportunity to advance.

18. "pipe down" - you are mistaken. I am a worster. You have no clue as to the purpose of the site. We support anti establishment rebels with a cause. We love Sanjaya, for all the right reasons. He is an artist, an original, and the true winner of American Idol.

No amount of payola and hype can make their chosen ones win awards. They lose. Sanjaya wins all on his own merit.

20. Sanjaya rocks, he CAN sing, he is a sexy babe and has many, many fans from all over the world, this one being from NZ and I aint no teenager or meth user.

21. WOW, you guys must really be tone deaf.

Posted at 5:28PM on Oct 3rd 2007 by too weird

22. #21-No, YOU are refusing to open up your ears and LISTEN, without Simon Cowell telling you what to listen for, evidently.

Go back and read my above post, #16. Honestly tell me how many succesful Top 40 pop artists really have great voices? How many? How many of YOUR faves could have withstood Simon Cowell on AI? I'd wager not that many. Sanjaya has been the victim of a mass misconception that the likes of AI, TZM etc has continued to perpetuate, and quite falsely at that. Think about it. If Sanjaya had never appeared on AI; if he had simply gone the traditional route, been picked up by an agent, and cut and released a record, with that sultry smooth r&b voice and those teen dream looks, the media would be eating him up as their new darling! But thanks to AI, and Mr. Cowell every week informing those who cannot think and hear for themselves, "You're horrible," well, no wonder so many came to believe that. Most people who attended the AI tour have come around because they finally saw and heard for themselves that "hey, the kid's really not that bad."

The truth is, he never was. And no, I am not tone deaf...on the contrary, I see and hear quite clearly...enough to know I have backed the right horse from the start.

23. Poor Sanjaya, it's not his fault the little 12-yr-old girls wore out his welcome on that show. All the teenyboppers with text messengers were doing the voting and he was such a good sport about the negative comments. He seems a good-natured kid and stole my heart when he consoled his sister after she was voted off. I was thrilled to see him finally gone though but bore him no malice. All of you on here who think he is "amazing" and "talented", well darlings, aren't you a little young to be on this site? In some time zones I'm sure it's past your bedtime, you have school tomorrow. Of you go.

24. I think both of my posts should make it obvious that I'm no 12-year-old teenybopper. To the contrary, most of Sanjaya's most loyal, most dedicated fans are middle-aged, college-educated or better people who know what good music and good taste is. We've been around the block a few times and have seen most trends in music and show biz come and go. I've been around long enough to see most of the teen idols from my youth crash and burn, and then rise again. Some have gone on to very respectable post-teen idol careers; others have simply become nostalgia acts. I've also been actively involved in the entertainment business for many years, and have seen and heard a lot. I have also seen and heard Sanjaya. I've listened with a keen ear and open mind to his studio recordings; I have watched him perform in person, not once, but several times. In all cases, I have heard and seen a potential star in the making, and I can say right now that anyone who would refuse a chance to sign this kid up is absolute frigging nuts.

Do I think he's talented? Hell yes I do; he has more talent in his pinky than most of those other trainwrecks who were at that show. And how do you measure talent, anyway? Talent is much more than just singing. Like I said, I have seen this kid perform. He can dance, he can entertain, he knows how to work a stage and an audience. He's a natural-born comedienne. I have seen his photography and self-portraits, all of which are stunningly beautiful. How can you say that someone has no talent, when the word itself encompasses so much, and has so many facets? So what if he isn't Pavaratti. Who in hell on the Top 40 charts is?

Sorry, but I am not the one deluded. Far from it.

25. Hahaha, yes Sanjaya has teenage fans. But we still love him for his voice too. Even if Sanjaya wasn't gorgeous, I would still listen to his music. And by the way, I know Sanjaya has just as many fans who are not teeny boppers.

26. Sanjaya, you are the best. I am so proud of you. You deserve all of the good things in life. Keep on smiling and always look up!!!! You are a wonderful sweet kid. Don't listen to all of the negativity. They are all just jealous. Just always stay as sweet as you are now. You will definitely go far in life. I absolutely adore you. Diane Perry

27. Lol. Raven Woods, perhaps you could enlighten us as to how you know "most" of Sanjaya's fans are middle aged. Most of the idols of our youth who crashed and burned never rose again, wow I was just wondering what planet you live on anyway. I can't stop laughing at your post long enough to form a coherent sentence but I'll try. Sanjaya can carry a tune, just not very far. He also works the crowd fairly well because he doesn't take himself too seriously, he's a nice kid who probably won't disappear because he's a novelty and he's likeable. He has that really young Donny Osmond thing going for him and I for one wish him well, in fact I'm pretty sure my post made that clear but I'm sorry, it was mostly the teens who kept him on when the rest of us saw that he wasn't really good enough to win. Personally I still think Melinda should have won but Jordin is certainly no slouch either.

28. Congrats to you Sanjaya!!!! Stay positive! TMZ, he was absolutely GREAT on tour! He is a very good entertainer, he won many, many hearts on American Idol (mine especially) and is such a nice, sweet guy (yes I was lucky enough to meet him in person). I don't know why you people have to try to belittle him.......jealousy maybe?! He's doing his thing, and it's nice to have someone in the limelight that's not out getting wasted, being indecent, going to jail, or having a breakdown.
I LOVE YOU SANJAYA!!!!!!

29. Leela, Raven knows about the age of the majority of the fans because she, like me, is part of Sanjaya's official fansite. Of course he's got fans in their teens too, but even he's mentioned in interviews that he didn't realise until the AI tour that there are loads of us who have kids and even grandkids. As for not carrying a tune very far, he carried several around nearly 60 tour dates and impressed people who didn't like him on the show. YouTube and the tour board on the AI site are your friends if you want proof.

Bell tone, you clearly couldn't tell the difference between an augmented fourth and a diminished fifth if they bit you on the arse. You're also so far back in the closet, you're in Narnia.

30. London and Raven, oh all right if it's that important to you, you may continue to insist that "most" of Sanjaya's fan base is middle-aged. ROFLAO! He's still a great kid who was turned into a joke through no fault of his own and that is a shame. If you wish you may believe that you set us all straight. And of course he was on the IDOL tour you moron, he was part of the top 10. Rolls eyes and withdraws from Fantasy Island.
