No, this Dan Rather clip is not a fake. It's from the folks at My Damn Channel. The disgruntled, disgraced reporter actually does take 20 minutes to debate whether he should wear a jacket for the CBS Evening News.

1. TMZ wishes they could be anything like Dan Rather. He is respectable. TMZ is like a grocery tabloid. Its complete trash. If TMZ cost money only old ladies would pay for it.

4. I've worked on location with a local news broadcast here in L.A.... they sure didn't make the anchor sit/stand outside for 45 minutes prior to the broadcast! And they weren't Dan Rather.
Goes to show you folks that the news is more than just sitting at the desk and reading off a teleprompter. So much happens behind the scenes, you just pray that everything goes well in that short period of time you're on the air... especially if you're on location.

5. Oh, and for the record, you're right TMZ. Anchoring may not be hard-hitting journalism, but neither is what you guys do here on this site. Might be too much to ask of you to actually report on more worthwhile events. Dan on the other hand served his time earlier in his career doing the kind of journalism you guys only dream of....

11. Oh CBS is starting to play dirty.....pretty soon they'll release the Dan Rather flatulates at his desk tape. They have gotten away with many a sleazy firing and if people knew the truth behind some of them it would be quite an embarrassment to the network.....

13. I can't speak for it now, but when I was involved with television news years ago, it was always a dog-and-pony show. In this video, I see Mr. Rather just doin' the television news thing--because the camera never blinks.
