4. I've worked on location with a local news broadcast here in L.A.... they sure didn't make the anchor sit/stand outside for 45 minutes prior to the broadcast! And they weren't Dan Rather.
Goes to show you folks that the news is more than just sitting at the desk and reading off a teleprompter. So much happens behind the scenes, you just pray that everything goes well in that short period of time you're on the air... especially if you're on location.

5. Oh, and for the record, you're right TMZ. Anchoring may not be hard-hitting journalism, but neither is what you guys do here on this site. Might be too much to ask of you to actually report on more worthwhile events. Dan on the other hand served his time earlier in his career doing the kind of journalism you guys only dream of....

11. I can't speak for it now, but when I was involved with television news years ago, it was always a dog-and-pony show. In this video, I see Mr. Rather just doin' the television news thing--because the camera never blinks.
