Lil Wayne Arrested in Idaho

Lil WayneUPDATE: As of late Saturday, Lil Wayne is free on $10,000 bond.

TMZ has learned that rapper Lil Wayne was arrested early Saturday morning in Boise, Id.

Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., was booked into the Ada County Jail by the Boise City Police around 7:30 AM MT this morning. The Sheriff's Department website indicated he was booked on felony charges of being a fugitive.

Boise cops tell TMZ Wayne was arrested immediately following his concert Friday night at Boise's Qwest Arena. We're told he was picked up on a felony warrant out of Fulton County, Ga., for a felony possession of drugs charge. Authorities from Georgia contacted Idaho police and gave them the heads up about the warrant.

Cops tell us he was very cooperative and was arrested without incident. He is now in protective custody pending an arraignment and extradition hearing, which will take place Monday afternoon.

Wayne was previously nabbed in July on a gun charge in New York, and in 2006 he was busted in Atlanta for drug possession.

Calls to Lil Wayne's publicist were not immediately returned. No other information is yet available.

77. First of all robert e lee Afro American's are not the only one's that have babies out of wed-lock. I work for the system and that's all you mostly see is white people with children born out of wed-lock . #3 needs a reality check why will the streets be safer because he's in jail?? Have you watch the predator catcher's those's are the one's that needs to be put away,The priest that are molesting the little kids needs to be in jail. I am a fan of Lil Weezy and I am praying for him. At least I can say one thing about him, He isn't a DEAD BEAT DAD. I give this man major credit for stepping up and taking care of his daughter at such a young age. Can't find to many like him. The Good Outweigh's The Bad. Too many black kids love to spend it all on "bling & sing" race-based, whereas the white teens you mention take in all genre of performers because they have earned it & can afford to spend it affluently ... so a bit of Lil is easy to afford - an amusing "artist" because smart kids love diversity. Secondly, he was not a fugitive from Idaho if you actually READ the story, he was a fugitive in Georgia and Idaho cops picked him up for theGA. As for the streets being safer...please, he carries a gun and smokes blunts...big deal, half of Lousiana does that and we are no worse off than any other place...get a life!
