Britney Wants Job As a Bartender? Huh?!

Britney SpearsA court-ordered-sober Britney Spears applied for a new job on Thursday as a ... wait for it ... bartender!!

Sources inside the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif. tell TMZ Brit checked in Thursday and at around 10:30 PM went downstairs and started talking with a bartender.

We're told Spears told the bartender she wanted to do what she did -- then asked for and obtained an application from the night manager to work in the hotel's "Cameo Bar."

We're told the application is currently with Human Resources. The hotel website says the bar "serves imported and California wines, premium well drinks and appetizers ... signature drinks include Blood Orange, Key Lime and Raspberry Lemon Drop martinis."

This might be the worst possible gig for a mother trying to regain custody of her children, who is required to undergo drug and alcohol testing.

Spears checked out the next morning. No word yet if the hotel is considering hiring Brit Brit to pour their booze.

26. Come on people, get a brain! Any body that has seen all this stuff on her and doesn't get that it's for publicity...is just blind to reality. Britney feeds off of being the center of attention, good or bad. She loves the high she gets from going in public and having the lights go off, her every move watched. That is what it is about. She would feel lost if she went to a store and no one was taking her picture, she'd feel worthless...so she does whatever it takes to keep in that center of attention. And we eat it up. Because Americans love to be distracted.

30. I find nothing wrong with this... it may sound odd being that she IS famous. But maybe this is her attempt at some normalcy... or something lol. How many people have wished to be famous and make loads of money? Well.. wonder how many of those famous people, especially those that have grown up famous, want to know what it's like to have normal jobs. She didn't just come on to the scene.... so it's not like she had her years of normal jobs and so on like some other people do where she struggled as a teen and in her early twenties doing jobs like waitressing, etc.... I don't think this sounds all that crazy. I'm not sure how easy it would be to pull off of course... with fans and Paps up her butt all the time... but hey...
