David Hasselhoff Relapses and Is Hospitalized

TMZ has confirmed that David Hasselhoff has been hospitalized, as first reported by the National Enquirer.

Rep Judy Katz tells us that the Hoff did have a relapse and is in the hospital, but is doing fine. In an exclusive statement, Katz tells us "David had a brief relapse and immediately recognized the importance of addressing it with the assistance of his doctors. He is doing fine and will be back home in the morning".

As for how this will affect his custody case, sources say the children had been in ex-wife Pamela Bach's care for the last six weeks as he's been out of the country in Romania shooting "Anaconda 3."

We're told mediation is scheduled for Thursday.

We last saw the Hoff last Thursday night, outside of Koi with one of his daughters.

31. Perhaps the most valuable part of this story is that Anaconda 3 should be avoided at all costs!!! Good to know!

32. Obviously he wanted to be drunk more than he wanted to be sober. Using the excuse, hey I'm an alcoholic, this is what alcoholics do is slip..nah, I don't buy that concept..it is plain and simple, getting drunk far out weighed wanting to be sober for him.
Get it together Hoff!

33. He looks like he has been rode hard and put away wet...I'd drink to....Those kids are about grown, stop going to custody court and chill out, go get laid or something, get a face lift for god sakes...

34. In regards to comment #4 magic man... PLEASE don't use the word RETARD that is very offensive especially if you have someone in your family who has this medical condition and I DO, if you would take the time to get to know someone who has this condition you wouldn't call someone that because I bet you they are smarter than you are.

37. There is no relapse to being a drunk! He needs to visit Betty Ford's clinic. He should visit his daughters, but they should not live with him until he gets control of his problems. This behavior must be heart breaking for his family.

38. If any of you idiots did a little research, you would realize that alcoholism is a scientifically proven disease. Once you've been diagnosed as an alcoholic, you then begin treatment. Alcoholics suffer for the rest of their lives. Relapse IS a part of the process and while some will never do it, the majority of recovering alcoholics do. But I'm glad that all you perfect people think that it is nothing serious. I hope you never have a family member or friend experience it b/c you will be in for a rude awakening. Know what the hell you are talking about before you open your mouth.

So come on to those of you that don't believe it is a disease- you probably still believe the earth is flat.

39. And yes, a person originally chooses to take that first drink- but family history, surroundings and social situations play a part in it as well.

44. Yes, Mr. Hasselhoff has a drinking problem, and yes, he has marital problems. He is no different than any other individual in this world. The reality is that accepting the problem and getting the right treament is the only way to beat the disease. I have been lucky, husband has been sober 21 years and no relapse. Some others have to struggle but supporting him instead of baggering and cutting him down will not help. So I hope he has family and friends to give him the support to overcome this illness. Has anyone out there ever try quitting smoking? It is just as addictive and difficult. Like the old saying goes, "People in glass houses need to watch where they throw their stones" Keep on trying Mr. Hasselhoff and the best of luck to you on your recovery. "One day at a time"

45. "My name is David and I am a recovering alcoholic." With these words and the support of the hundreds of people who understand your problem, you can get your life in order. Those of us who have been in the situation send you our best wishes and blessings, in the hope that , even though you can probably never beat it ,at least you will have control over it and live your life to the fullest in happiness.
