Scott Thompson Sucks at Gay Softball Event

Exclusive: Scott Thompson"Kids in the Hall" actor Scott Thompson just blew it with the gays. Thompson performed at the Softball Gay World Series opening ceremonies in Phoenix last week, well, that is if you could call what he did a "performance."

According to our source, the comedian began bombing right after he dissed Kathy Griffin. You don't diss Kathy to the gays! He then went on to clear out the stadium with "lame vulgar jokes and even used the N word." At one point, he stopped his act and addressed a gaggle of lesbians that turned their backs to him, and said, "Thanks for turning your backs while I'm here actually trying to do something. Trying to perform!" Key word: "trying."

The next day, the Series Director sent out a letter of apology to each team that was subjected to Thompson's act, stating that comments "made by Mr. Thompson were not approved," and that they were sorry they "did not pull the plug sooner." Swing, and a miss!

76. I do have children....two beautiful children and I do teach them the difference between right and wrong… But, I also have taught them to be NON-judgmental and to embrace diversity. I taught them to not hate someone because they are different. Just because someone is gay doesn’t mean they don’t have morals.

And to LaLauen: It’s all about Karma. My sister in-law hated African-Americans and gays. And guess what? Her daughter is gay and her son married a black woman. Hilarious. That’s what she gets. Needless to say, she has been forced to re-think her stance on a few things.

78. Madison, so you think other people's misfortunes are hilarious? Good one.
Don't forget to teach your children about God!

79. I love Scott Thompson; I'm sure that this "act" was taken out of context and we're not getting the full story.

BTW, Kathy Griffin stopped being funny and moved on to ANNOYING about 5 years ago. I miss her old nose...

80. Oh no, Cherylcyn, trust me ... he was crass and vulgar and not in any way funny. I love vulgar jokes but he was just way over the line and apparently forgot about the comedy part of his routine.

I was a big fan of his before this, so I'm not biased ...

81. First of all, I was there and up until that night I was also a fan but he was very offensive, especially towards women and there were alot of women there AND kids. Yes we gays have children too. I have a 20 year old son in the Airforce serving OUR country and fighting to protect the rights of ALL americans. He and his new wife came to support me and my team. Scott's language and sexual humor was very inappropriate for this event....period. It was the committees fault and not so much his fault but he really should have did his homework to determine who would be in the audience that night.

As far as the ignorant person that asked why we have a "gay softball world series anyway?" All I can say to you, is that until there is no more homophobia and discrimination towards gays and lesbians we will have a need to have this event. Be serious, do you think that we could ever play "openly" in a straight sports organization? duh, no. Hopefully one day and when that day comes then we won't need our own event. It was incredible to be able to play with open minded gay friendly and gay players for the series. Alot of our families were there to support us and cheer us on. We deserve the same rights as everyone else so until we get them leave us alone and let us enjoy sports just as you do. Alot ( not all ) of you tend to take your rights for granted.....guess it's easy to forget about those that do not have those rights....afterall, if it doesn't effect you why care?.....right?

83. I really don't get all the gay bashing on here, it's archaic and immature.
Acceptance does something for all involved...you all should try it.

If you want to use the "gay's go to hell" card, then I'll see you in hell for the following reasons:
"You lied about something today."
"You cheated on your girlfriend/boyfriend two years ago."
"You're reading the crap on this site and "judging" thy neighbor..."

The list goes on and on...

Quite frankly, I don't think God is that catty. In fact, all He has asked is that you love your neighbor and accept Him for who He is...

And see...we are right back at acceptance.

84. This is so stupid since when does the fact that your a man and you want another man to stick his pole in your behind grant you Holidays and all These gay events its stupid keep that in the closet where it belongs maybe we should have the same laws as Iran or at least make every proud gay citizen earn their citizenship and serve a term in the military instead of hiding behind all the women you cowards

85. As I gay man, I was horrified by this guys attempt at humor. Its not that it was crass, it was simply horrendous. It was not an inappropriate venue for the type vulgarity he spewed while on the stage. This was opening ceremonies for a Gay and Lesbian athletic event, not a comedy club where off color humor is appreciated. Im soooo glad they cut him off early. The damage was done however, as 75% of the audience had left, myself included.

86. What did he say? Can we get some specific examples?

87. I'd always want to know how gays feels about muslims? They aren't like christians they want to cut your throats and throw you down a well. You never say a word about them. Remember the President of Iran, he said, "there wasn't any gays in Iran, we don't have that problem here". How come gays didn't go marching in the streets and condemn him and his country?????

88. who care about this crap, if a straight guy says that crap. then gladd would be acting like it was a gay bashing attack . but since all the fruit and Harvey at tmz where there playing softball, they must have been offended! i think all gay should be sent to Canada

89. To #84, we gays don't really have to deal with oppression from Muslims too much in the USA ... we have to fight our battles with the enemies that are right in front of us, and they're plentiful.

Do we have empathy for our Iranian brothers and sisters? I can't speak for everyone, but I certainly do; it wasn't that long ago that the people who came before us were beaten and jailed here in the good ol' USA (and we're still being beaten and killed; thank God not as much). Heard of Stonewall?

There was a time when a woman could be arrested here just for having a zipper in the front of her pants -- and it was during my lifetime.

Posted at 9:45PM on Oct 9th 2007 by I was there

90. Take my word, you can ignore the problem just like Bill Clinton did and we saw what they thought about us after attacking us for 8 straight years and got ignored. Being a christian, I feel it's a battle at all, I have nothing against gays whatsoever, just keep it to yourself. Heard of Stonewall, but that was either in the 60's or 70's not sure, and time has changed alot things. There was a time when blacks had to ride in back of the bus, but that over and if you always look in the rearview mirror you'll never be able to forward!!!
