Graziano's Mom

Granted Guardianship

10/10/2007 2:07 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

1010_graziano_nick_bn_wi-1A Florida judge has granted temporary guardianship to Debra Graziano, mother of John Graziano, the critically injured Marine in the August 26 car crash involving Hulk Hogan's son Nick Bollea.

Graziano has been in critical condition since the wreck, and is said to be in a coma-like state. His mother Debra and her estranged husband, Edward, have been fighting over guardianship of John, according to WTVT in Tampa. Edward Graziano wanted an independent guardian appointed for his son.

Steven Hearn, an attorney for Edward Graziano, alleges that the Hogans are financially supporting his estranged wife in an effort to avoid a potential lawsuit. "The Bolleas have been providing financial support to his wife," said Hearn. "We have learned, for example, that they are paying for her to live in a condominium or townhouse in Clearwater."

Hearn requested and was granted a continuance, in order to "investigate what other financial benefits the Bolleas have been providing to Mrs. Graziano during the course of these events," he said.

This boy's condition is directly linked to the Hogan parents who thought that allowing their kid to be a speed freak was cool. I hope they get their asses sued off and if I heard right Hulks' son didn't have insurance. I wouldn't be surprised if Hulk Hogan was the driver his son was racing that nite. So...hmmm..is it still cool to encourage and allow your son to drive like a freak on a track or public street...

Typical. This guy wants to get a guardian to make sure the "lawsuit" is preserved. Sure he's just looking after his son's interests. Didn't the family have a restraining order against this guy before this accident happened? Didn't he cause a huge scene at the hospital which required someone to call the police? Isn't it a good think the parents are helping her out (if they are). Isn't it possible they are doing this because they feel bad about the situation and not to try to avoid any lawsuit - which, by the way, will probably still come regardless of any assistance they are now giving her. Ugh!

P.S. Why hasn't Nick been charged with anything yet?????? At minimum he should be charged with driving to endanger with serious injury. This accident combined with multiple prior tickets for driving at ridiculous speeds = he should lose his license for years and years and years. (once he gets out of jail)

Anyone who says Nick should be in his place should be ashamed of themselves. No family should have to go through this type of tragedy. I'm sure if it were you in his, (Nick's) position you would do anything you could to see that your friend get's all the help he needs.

The word of the day: FORGIVENESS...

Im real

First off why is everyone trying to put the blame on one person? I feel soo bad for kid, he is way to young to be in such a state of condition, I mean look he was in Iraw and did okay, whyy must he get hurt now? Most part it was Nick's fault, he should serve jail time for what he did, BUTTTTT, if the guy was wearing a seatbelt.....l he would prolly be in a better state of condition, he is at fault too. So right now insted of trying to blame everyone, lets just keep him in our prayer and hoping for the best, thats what him and his family need right now

You can't tell me that if Nick wasn't Hulk Hogan's son that he wouldn't have the book thrown at him by now. Hulk with his mucho man bulsh*t probably had the star struck cops eating out of his hands. The police over there in Florida know Nick's history of speeding and they should be pressing charges against this smacked a$$ of a brat.

I wish people commenting on this young man and his recent military service in Iraq would stop saying he fought or defended our country or to protect us - against who???? I thought the whole point of the Iraq war was to defend and deliver the Iraqi people from their evil dictator and bring democracy to them (although I don't remember any of them asking for this intervention). At least that's how it was sold to the American people with the help of the impartial media.

Good lord, what a litigious society we live in! It's sickening to see how many people are out here with torches ready to crucify the Hogans. Rampant lawsuits only lead to more beaurocracy and red tape and will continue to be the downfall of this anal society.

Yeah, Nick was a dumbass but lawsuits do NOT prevent accidents like this from happening and will NOT bring John back. Do you think carrying this on his conscience isn't punishment enough for Nick? The Hogans are already doing the right thing supporting the mother. What more do you people want!

Duh..

I guess your against the war (petal). This isnt the place to comment about that but now that you brought it up...I dont agree with the war either but its the government that sends them there to fight even if they dont want to. Just like any job you do what you are paid to do. I dont support the war at all but I do support the troops that are there fighting. I always keep them in my prayers.

According to TBO.com, the Department of Veteran Affairs is paying the medical bills, not the Hogans or their insurance. They want to move the boy to a VA hospital. The Hogans were also subpeonaed to appear at the court hearing today and they pulled a no-show.

I agree....its GOOD the family is helping out, it was a mixture of BAD that led to this..for one Nick should NOT have been speeding, he knew and knows that...a horrible lesson to learn the hard way and a very heavy burden for him to carry the rest of his life. John was not wearing a seatbelt, a choice he personally made...those two choices led to one terrible situation. His father sounds like an ass. I am sure the Hogans ARE paying for medical bills, good for them for setting up the boy's mom where she can be near her son and I hope they pay to get him the best care for as long as he needs it. And Im sure there is much more financial and emotional support going on then we'll ever know and you have to give them credit for stepping up.

Actually the original reason President Bush gave our country for going to Iraq was to stop
the production of weapons of mass destruction (WMD's). When it was discovered that there were no WMD's the reason for invading Iraq changed to what you have described above. So John may have gone to Iraq for the original reason or maybe not.

I suspect it won't be long before Police announce charges. I think they are probably waiting on a few things: (1) John's condition to stabilize somewhat so they know the damage Nick did to a human life. (2) Getting professional readings from the stored data on the car's computer telling speed, gas pedal position, engin RPMs, brake position, etc. in the seconds before the crash. (3) Reviewing this highly suped-up race car for modifications that were illegal for the road use. --- using this, along with Nick's past record, they can put together a case for his chronic negligence, endangering of lives, reckless and irresponsible actions. ---------- If Nick was truely a "professional" driver, he never would even had consider driving on public roads like he had been again and again. How many Andretti, Gordon, Wallace, Johnson, LaBonte, etc. etc. do you hear of getting speeding tickets and totalling cars on city streets. None! - they are pros, Nick is a poseur, a fake, a wanna-be without the smarts and common sense - and not just because he's 17 - but because racing is a sport of control and discipline that he has never demonstrated. -------- Driving at high speed and crashing is not an accident, it is an error, a mistake or misjudgement perhaps - doing it on a racetrack it is never called an accident, it's called a crash because, you assume that risk by pushing the gas pedal that hard - you may lose control and smash-up your car. Doing the same on public roads doesn't make it any more of an accident (especially for a so-called "Pro" driver) in fact it's even less of an accident...it's a crash caused by irresponsible and illegal conduct on the road.

How come no one has mentioned that Nick was wearing his seatbelt and is okay and John a grown man capable of makng his own decisions was not and that is why he was so injured. Yes Nick is guilty of being a teenage male driver that drove to fast and had an ACCIDENT but that is it. It was a mistake of immaturity not a crime.

WHAT IS THE RUSH

WHEN I READ THIS STORY, I GET SAD.......................WHY?

BECAUSE I THINK NICK HOGEN IS NOT A BAD GUY, BUT HE DID MAKE A VERY BAD CHOICE. TO SPEED IS BAD ON A STREET. IF IT WAS HIM AND HIM ALONE, STILL NOT RIGHT, BUT HE IS ONLY TAKING HIS OWN LIFE IN DANGER. I LIVED NEAR A HIGH SCHOOL WHERE SOME YOUNG KIDS CAME OUT, IN A RED CAMERO, WERE RACING AND WOUND UP AROUND A TREE AND KILLED HIMSELF AND OTHERS HURT.

NICKS LICENSE SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY FOR A TIME FOR SURE, CAR AND DO SOME COMMUNITY SERVICE TO HIGH SCHOOLS TO SHOW THE ILLS OF STREET RACING.

JUST ASK HIS FRIEND LYING IN THE BED, AND MAYBE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.I ALSO HOPE HULK HOGEN DOES NOT LET HIM OFF EASY. IF HE ISN'T PUNISHED ON THIS IN SOME WAY, HE WON'T LEARN.
