Hoff Poisoned

TMZ has learned David Hasselhoff was admitted to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.

Sources tell us David checked himself into Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. after a binge. It was a stark contrast from what we saw last Thursday, when Hoff had a night out with daughter Hayley at Koi restaurant. Hasselhoff looked great. But things changed dramatically afterward.

No word on how the latest lapse will affect custody. A judge awarded physical custody of the kids to Hoff, but we're told for the last five weeks they've been living pretty much full-time with David's ex, Pamela Bach, while he was in Europe shooting "Anaconda 3." We're told he had "infrequent contact" with his daughters, something Hoff's people dispute. We're told Hoff has tried to keep contact at a minimum with Pam while the parties try to hammer out a property settlement.

As for how Hoff is doing, his rep says he checked out of the hospital and he's fine.

David and Pam are due back in mediation tomorrow.

61. for and alcoholic to get "alcohol poisoning" must take a LOT alcohol - that is truly sad...

62. No amount of money or perks would make me want to spend one single minute in Hasselhoff's life.

It's truly is a shame for his ex wife and daughters that so many, many years have been wasted trying to help someone who does not want help.

David wants sympathy and more excuses to drink.

We're told alcoholism is a 'disease'.

ya know..
I just aint buyin it.
It's a 'condition', at most. And one that brings in billions of dollars a year to treatment centers and so-called counselors. Those associated in a way with the huge industry that now have services galore to 'treat' the 'diseased' alcoholic are absolutely raking it with extremely low success rates. What cons.

David could stop drinking *anytime* he wants to with proper meds and detox supervision. Many drinkers don't even need those -- ones with more spine and determination than the "Hoff", tho.
He chooses not to because he *likes* the taste of booze.

get it yet?

nope, I don't expect this is a very popular opinion.
(I can hear the enablers or those that profit in any way from the 'diseased drinker' whimpering as they know I just blew their con.)

David, grow up. (for starters)

alcoholism is a chosen condition.
period.

63. TO:
#62 truth hurts - AMEN! A chosen "condition", at best. I'm sick of hearing "disease" too. I agree that alcoholism can cause diseases (cirrhosis of the liver, for example), just as smoking can cause diseases (cancer). That doesn't make smoking, itself, a disease.

64. Yeah, "Hoff was'poisoned'", just like OJ is out on the golf course,"looking for the killer of Nicole and Ron".

65. I'm the daughter of a smoker. There were many smokers in my family.
I smoke cigarettes. I think I must have a smoking 'gene'.
I fully admit I'm strongly addicted to nicotine and all the behaviors associated with smoking. Including lying about how many cigs I smoke a day and what I pay for them.
But I like the taste and physical pleasures of smoking. I'm ADDICTED, that's all I really know for sure.

When I was six years old, I learned the hard way never to steal again and I haven't (well, does a hotel ashtray count...promise, only did that twice!)
But I would probably steal cigarettes if I had no money to buy them.

Actually, no 'probably' about it. I would. (steal, that is) :( :( :(

When I am in places where there is no smoking allowed (especially in confined places, such as airplanes, I get physical shakes and I get a bad tummy ache because I *think* I need a cigarette and I can't have one. (unless I want to get arrested or socially flogged) ;)

Do I have a disease?
I AM addicted to a drug....NICOTINE, after all.
I consider myself too WEAK to quit --- uhmm....ok, even to cut back.
I make alotta promises to my loved ones that I'm going to quit because, as they've pointed out, I am beginning to physically suffer smokers 'consequences'. No kidding, even my own family treats me like a leper (a disease, fer sure!) Oh, and socially, too. All my friends are non-smokers. (short of a couple pals who 'borrow' cigs from me who don't normally smoke).

I think I must have Smokers Disease. Nicotine has a grip on me and it's harming my body and even those around me who suffer (rarely anymore) 'second hand smoke'.

I suffer from Smokolism.

"Diseased" drinkers have an ism, Smokers need one.

I need a rehab for Smokers.
I need meds and de-tox, medicines, people to support me, doctors, all the things drinkers get. How about a 12-Step group, too?

I also need some willing Enablers and lots and lots of sympathy and excuses.

Drinkers get all the breaks, dammit.

Hasselhoff has a 'disease' so we're told.
He says himself setbacks to recovery are to be expected.
Well. Gee.
The next time I light up a cigarette in a no-smoking area that's what I'm going to tell the anti-smoking mob when they start yellin at me.
I'll tell the cop who arrives to arrest and ticket me for smoking the same thing: I HAVE A DISEASE!!!

And for the next family member who gives me lip....
I'll remind them: "But I have a DISEASE!"
I know for sure, and thanks to all the drinkers I've known, it's going to work.
I will get everything I want in the way of sympathy and that elusive 'help' promoted by those working in the field of alcoholism, another
DISEASE.

Hasselhoff...I should thank you (and your ilk)
I finally found a way to escape all personal responsibilty for a disgusting bad CHOSEN habit. I am diseased. Blame the disease, don't blame me!

p.s. okay, sorry. It was vent. It won't happen again.
Just that I'm fed up with the Hasselhoffs of the world and all those like him that use a powerful word such as 'disease' to manipulate others.

And if anyone says I'm stupid for smoking.
You are right.

but hey..
this felt sorta positive. I feel hopeful.
I gonna give it another try....
quitting that is.

:) (don't EVER believe a diseased person, though.) lol

66. Geez #65-
Why don't you tell us how you really feel?
BTW-I am smoking a cigarrette while typing this.....

67. All we have to do is lock Hasselhoff in a room with the "smoker" for 24 hrs. Guaranteed cure for whatever ails him. ;-)

But do have laugh..
I agree with the premise of her 'vent'. lol...

68. Meanwhile, David is home inhaling the booze and thinking his career just got a major boost. No such thing as bad PR for his type ------ on the other hand, if this had been a female celeb she'd be tarred and feathered with hourly TMZ updates.

Come on TMZ! We wanna see drunk-David pics & videos! Stalk him the way you do the three fallen Graces, Britney/Lindsay/Paris.

69. to smoker:
It sounds like you get sexually arosed by your smoking. You really sound like quite the moron. What an ass! I bet you smell great.

70. oh forgot...
to the poster, smoker: way to go, babe...

you hang in there..
quitting smoking is tough. society, in general, isn't nearly as tolerate with smokers as they are boozers with 'alleged' diseases.

Posted at 10:58PM on Oct 10th 2007 by pipster

71. LOL! see, what did I tell you, smoker.

'magic man' --- proves my point.
nevermind he's probably a closet perv.

lol

72. It is pathetic that the Hasslehoff girls have either one of them for parents! Be real! Alcohol poisoning is from having TOO much alcohol..not someone tainting their alcohol. Last I heard, admitted alcoholics shouldn't touch the stuff...so there!

73. sorry pipster, I dont get sexually aroused by women, and I really find women that smoke to be truly disgusting. You sound like a real douchebag yourself!

74. It is normal for people to relapse sometimes right? Everyone knows that he is am alcholic and sometimes it happens and this should not be used against him in the chid custody case, UNLESS he keeps relapsing. So SHE will get the custody? She is a cuckoo and has no respect for anyone anyhow. I just hope the Hoff stays on the wagon.
Pamela Bach sucks as does Kim Basinger.

75. Hello! It is alcohol that is poison to your system. Too much. It feels as if the devil is in you. Complete insanity. Thank God i am back in my recovery. Keep comin' back HOFF! It works if you work it.
