TMZ spoke with a Target staffer who had the curious pleasure of walking within a few feet of Britney Spears and her puppy during yesterday's shopping excursion.

Our source said that Miss Spears was "really nice" and "very calm." Britney was looking for a camera charger, but to no avail.

We also asked what Target's policy was regarding animals in the store. The employee said, "It all depends on the manager on duty, but usually, animals are only allowed for people with disabilities." Does a terrible weave count?

16. Read the article people. This was yesterday. Not today. Today is when her court appearance was. I would look like a zombie too if I had photogs in my face all day. I feel sorry for her because people are not letting her live a normal life. I couldnt even imagine how hard it would be to live the life of a celebrity. Especially her. She is gorgeous.

17. If only her kids were taken care of the way her puppy is!! Everywhere you see her, you see her cuddling her precious dog. But her kids are an entirely different story. Someone needs to commit this woman and get her the help she so desperately needs. She applies for overnight visits but blows her court appearance. I hope the judge blows her request. Brit needs to grow up and drop her selfish and entitled attitude. Until she does I hope she never get permanent custody of those precious little boys.

21. LEAVE HER ALONG. She looks emotionless because these desperate photographers are stocking her..my god they are pathetic. The media is going to push her over the edge and when they do every single one of them should have to pay dearly. Don't you see how pathetic they are? It's totally stupid the way they haunt these celebrities..they have no boundaries. Some news is necessary to keep them in the spotlight but enough is enough...

23. I feel so sorry for this girl -- she is obviously sick and the pappos won't leave her alone. This is a perfect time to initiate some type of law prohibiting this type of behavior. How would any one of us feel having cameras and lights in our face -- 24/7 -- it's disgusting!

27. Some of you people are so ridiculous. Just because a millionaire shops at Target or Walmart - they are scorned?

It's you people racking up credit card debit; living in homes you cannot afford, wearing clothes and jewelry you cannot afford, and, driving impressive vehicles you cannot afford - all because you screwed somebody else for it -- that are the pathetic people.
