TMZ spoke with a Target staffer who had the curious pleasure of walking within a few feet of Britney Spears and her puppy during yesterday's shopping excursion.

Our source said that Miss Spears was "really nice" and "very calm." Britney was looking for a camera charger, but to no avail.

We also asked what Target's policy was regarding animals in the store. The employee said, "It all depends on the manager on duty, but usually, animals are only allowed for people with disabilities." Does a terrible weave count?

31. Humm, she had time to go to Target, but don't have time to go to Court this morning. She was suppose to be in court today to ask the Judge to let her keep the kids overnight. I guess she was passed out, and just have her attorney went to court for her.

33. To all the morons b-ing about the paps always being whereever she is. The reason they know where she and all the other celebutards are all the time is because the celebutards call them and tell them where they are. This has been proven over and over again, so, before you go feeling sorry for these retards because the paps are always around them, you need to realize why they always know where they are. 35. WHY can't you people (and the rest of the world) see that this young lady needs HELP! She's not a drug addict and probably not an alcholic either. She is mentally ill and needs help from a doctor, not anyone else. It's very sad that someone so ill has to be constantly in the public eye. But, SOMEONE (where you are, Lynn Spears??) needs to help Britney and FAST! She needs to be hospitalized and treated with therapy and medication until she gets stable. My heart goes out to her.

How stupid do you have to be to not realize this woman has the financial resources to send an assistant out to the local store and get her smokes, Red Bull, camera charger, etc.?

39. The papparazzi are so out of control. Can you imagine if you were a customer that day with your small child? the confusion, loud yelling and scrambling? the papparazzi should NOT be allowed to go into a store or even on the stores property. Why were they allowed to do this?

45. Why are the photographers in a feeding frenzy with Spears? She's got problems for sure. But following her around to Target, Starbucks, etc. Aren't there enough photos of her already?
