Rapper T.I. Arrested in Atlanta

Rapper T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr., was arrested this afternoon in Atlanta. The ATF executed a search warrant at his home, and according to Atlanta's FOX 5 News, T.I., remains in custody.

The agencies at the scene of the federal search warrant include: The ATF, U.S. Marshals: Fugitive Task Force, Fulton County SWAT, Fulton County PD, Dekalb County PD, and the ATF/Atlanta PD Violent Crime Impact Team.

The U.S. Attorney's office will neither confirm nor deny anything about the investigation.

T.I. currently has a number of projects, including a movie with Denzel Washington set for November release, and he was slated to perform at tonight's BET Hip-Hop Awards, scheduled to air October 17. The rapper has nine nominations, more than any other artist at the event.

TMZ contacted T.I.'s rep, who had no statement at the time.

18. Innocent until proven guilty. You all do NOT know what even went down! TIP has given a lot to the community that you do not even know of. It was probably someone that he was around and he can't control another person's actions! Some of you need to judge yourselves before you judge others! You hypocrites!

30. wow, and i thought he was different, the ATF does not but down your door unless you have a major stash of "9mm" and "mack 10" just when you think a rapper cannot be any dumber, well they set it up a notch!!! come on hip hop community, then you all get mad at white people because we express our opinions on tmz.. they really need to look in the mirror
