Orlando Bloom did not make an appearance at his scheduled charity event last night, "Breaking the Ice." But the show must go on!

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor was set to participate in the event, set up by the Sea Shepard Conservation Society, but must have opted out after being involved in an automobile accident on Thursday night.

16. Kate Bosworth has nothing to do with this!! If anything, she rode on his coat tails. AND for the conservation group, he has donated money PRIOR to this and went to Antartica in support of expeditions.

Maybe the accident was his fault...it doesn't make him the worst human being ever.

23. He got over his "shock" pretty fast. He may have skipped the environmental event, but he showed up at a cultural event for Soka Gokai yesterday in L.A. He told everybody to "Rock On!" And flashed his stomach.

24. I'm sure he had a good reason for not showing up at the charity event. Maybe he had the flu. He's a decent person who made a mistake. Still no one knows for sure why he left the scene of the accident. Was he trying to go for help? In shock? Get away from the paps? Give the guy a break. He's been in the press for a long time and if he were a jerk...you would have already seen it. How many of you out there would look this good in the press all the time?
