Kiefer Sutherland showed a remarkable resemblance to Jack Bauer, his tough-as-nails "24" character -- by opting to spend more time in jail for his second DUI conviction in order to protect the production of his show. Jack will be back!
The self-sacrificing star was seen in New York enjoying a walk on "the outside," as he's not allowed to drive until May of 2008. Kiefer is required to turn himself in on December 21 to begin his 48 days behind bars.

If he is not allowed to drive, why does he have a pair of car keys in his right hand???
48hrs? They should have made it 24 and promoted it! LOL

This case is a very public disgrace...:
I find it mildly amusing that you refer to someone on a 2nd dui as 'self sacrificing'. What if he'd killed someone while driving drunk. The self sacrificing are the innocents on the road with drunk people behind the wheel WHO CHOOSE NOT TO LEARN!!! Of course he's going to do anything he can to save his own a**, and his big money making show. I hope he's ashamed, leaving his loved ones during the holiday season, and ashamed for what he has done, AGAIN. There's really no excuse for his behavior.
I see from the garbage he is carrying out that Kiefer Sutherland uses VO5 Silky Experiences Champagne Kiss shampoo, with new richer lather. Just like Amy Sedaris.
I'm sure the keys are for his house - car keys attached as per his driving days. Man is he cute!
FYI To Justice For All...
Just to let you know, this is Kiefer's 4th DWI. Not 2nd.
just taking away his ability to drive should be punishment enough
Just offer him community service - it would be better than jail
Another drunk driving celebrity- everyone like to critize rappers BUT you have a better chance of your family being killed by a drunk driver than getting hit by a stray bullet in a "rap war". Your family does not hang out and go to where rappers go BUT you and your family do indeed ride along American streets where drunk drivers kill people daily
I don't appreciate the DUIs but it is right that he should take the greater punishment in order to protect the show. There are a lot of jobs at stake and those people should not be penalized for Sutherland's stupidity. At least in that one respect he is behaving with some regard for other people.
