Kiefer Set to Walk

Kiefer Sutherland showed a remarkable resemblance to Jack Bauer, his tough-as-nails "24" character -- by opting to spend more time in jail for his second DUI conviction in order to protect the production of his show. Jack will be back!

The self-sacrificing star was seen in New York enjoying a walk on "the outside," as he's not allowed to drive until May of 2008. Kiefer is required to turn himself in on December 21 to begin his 48 days behind bars.

20. Has anyone else noticed how the media keeps trying to persuade us that illegal aliens from south of the border is healthy for this country, or, that we need to feel guilt-ridden toward individuals and their hardships as they bravely trek here from their third world countries to do work that North Americans won't do? Television stations are hiring an increasing number of latino/latina news reporters to boost latino/hispanic audience. An episode of Keifer's show did just that. Immeidately I switched it off. I switch off every News broadcast with a latino/latina reporter. Alcoholism is not your only problem - Jack Baurer, you disappoint me. I will not support Anarchy!

21. Did anyone notice that he will be spending Christmas in jail? He made a mistake as we all do. So he had a few drinks and got nailed. How many people don't get nailed. I do know in the past when he felt he had too much to drink he called cabs. Maybe he just didn't feel he needed one. This was a .08 or higher. 2 beers can cause that. He paying the price.

KEIFER, LOVE YA AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!

24. I think that it's .02 or .03 per beer, so no, 2 beers can't cause that. It had to be more, even not counting for burn off of about 1 beer per hour.

This guy is a steaming load. As is there's no other actor that culd possibly step in and play his part in all of Hollywood. Please. What a jerk.

Maybe he should just quit and go get a real job and actually work like the rest of the men in the country.

25. Douche.

Way to spin it to make him look like some kind of hero for getting a DUI. He's an alcoholic with a string of DUIs, but he took more jail time to save his show! What a wonderful guy! NOT.

If he had been a hero in the first place, he would not have been driving drunk.

Kiefer Sutherland is not Jack Bauer except on a TV screen.

27. Ah, #24, your compassion for a person struggling with the disease of alcoholism is heartwarming. NOT.

Glad that no one was hurt when he drove drunk. Glad that he's taking his punishment like a man (not that there was a doubt that he would). Hope that he's getting help for his drinking problem. Glad that not everyone is as heartless as those who automatically condemn him - or anyone with a drinking problem.

28. He should get help but it's nice to see that he is being considerate to his co-workers. Now he needs to work on himself. Still love the guy though!

30. tmz and Harvey are totally wrong to act like KS is doing something noble. He took the best deal he could get and will serve his time during his show break to save his own ASS. A person who is as old as he is and has gotten popped for a dui 4 times should have already realized he has a big problem and deal with it. Face it, dude, you should never drink again.
