Imus Plotting Radio Return -- "Ready for War!"

Disgraced radio talker Don Imus has re-emerged after Nappygate, and not in a small way -- he'll be coming to the country's biggest talk radio station on December 3, says the Drudge Report.

The I-Man has made a deal with WABC in New York to bring his "Imus in the Morning" show back to the airwaves in what Drudge is calling an "eight-figure, multi-year contract." That's eight figures, as in, north of $10 million a year. "Don is rested, humbled, and ready for war!" says a studio source.

Still, WABC isn't taking any chances that Imus' often loud mouth won't cause any crazy ripples. "We'll have him on a standard 40-second delay," says the source. Imus settled with former employer CBS over his breach-of-contract lawsuit, reportedly for a cool $20 million.

121. I read through quite a few of these comments, expecting to read mostly negative things about Imus coming back on air. I was a little surprised to see it's about half and half.

I too was VERY HAPPY when Imus left MSNBC and talk radio because to me, he was just a foul mouthed redneck who sounds and looks stoned all the time. (Is that the reason for the sunglasses inside?) I think HE is his biggest fan.

Anyway, I couldn't even watch NBC in the mornings, while getting my son ready for school when he was on because of his vile, hateful comments, and foul mouth. And what is the point? To see how "shocking" he could be? Well, these days nothing shocks anyone anymore. It's just annoying. Yeah, in America there IS freedom of speech but what about human decency? Whether you're black, brown, white, yellow, or red this is the year 2007! Shouldn't we be past the whole racist crap?

I hope his show does horribly, I hope nobody listens to him and then he rides off in to the sunset, never to be seen again.

And If he's done so many good things, I hope he continues to do them in his private life without coming back to poison the airwaves with his hateful, hurtful comments. His time is over, we need new blood.

123. where the hell is bil cosby now, he goes on national tv and berates poor black people, but he goes mute or have backroom discussions when it comes down to people like imus. Don't get me wrong, everybody has a right to say what the hell they want, but , you have to face backlash when you say something dumb. This man is in his 60s, he knew better, but ima stick to my theory...he was on crack. Black people needs more influential people to stand up, rappers included, to these people who has the power to acept some people and reject others. And the problem is there are people that has fooled themselves into thinking that theirs no problem. If we allow people to spew nonsense over the airwaves, we should do away with censorship. My concern are the kids thats growing in both worlds, rich , poor. They are the ones that gon decide whether we are right or wrong , just teach your kids to respect other kids feelings so we can avoid situations like cleveland and jena.

124. Imus has been the voice of the downtrodden white middle classed male for more than 30 years. We're not allowed to speak anymore, so he speaks for us. Until this PC crap goes back where it came from, we need an Imus to represent what we're all thinking. It's better than having us all go off and explode on the "minorities" and "women" who now hold all the political, religious, sexual, and economic power in this country!
