48. I find the comments listed here interesting. As a musician, who has followed Prince for years through his heyday and beyond, I believe the man is still talented and will always remain so. People on this board have commented on the way he looks wearing make-up, his hair, his music, etc., Many of the people who post on this board are probably not musicians, which accounts for the content they post about him. People have different types of music they care for. In terms of make-up and eccentric / wild / crazy behavior, in the 80's and 90's many of the performers like the big stadium rock bands such as Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Heart, Whitesnake, Poison, Dokken, KISS, Firehouse, Warrant, Ratt, Van Halen, etc., wore makeup and big hair as part of their costumes. What is so different about what they did then, what Prince was doing ,and what musicians are doing today? Many musicians today still wear make up (because they have stylists who do this for them), they still change their names, they still act wild on stage and they still do some of the same things that were done in the past, mainly because their fan base expects that type of behavior. While many of them have calmed down over the years for whatever reason, they are still artists and continue to attempt to live up to the expectations of their fans. Prince is no different from any of them with the exception being the kind of music he performed. He is a performer. He is an artist and he is a musician. So, his behavior is no less crazy than any of the others of his era. And if he is expected to perform today, he would probably not change so dramatically that people would not remember who he was. They came to see him for just that reason and they continue to go to his concerts today to see him do those things that made him what he was and continues to be. Moving on to my next point for those of you who were not actually there when the agreement was made between the two people for the acquisition and use of the equipment, unless you know the person 'personally', how can you make a comment about something you know nothing about? You weren't there. You were not physically in the same room when the transaction between him and the other person occurred, so you don't know what happened. If there is someone out there who was actually there, then please enlighten us. If you can't say something nice, then say nothing at all. You probably just need to read the article and remain quiet because you don't know what actually happened or what the motivation of the gentleman was for trying to get one million dollars for about 47K worth of stuff. It is kind of obvious what he is up to, now isn't it?

As for Prince, he has always been a talented musician. He may be a little eccentric but that's the way he chooses to live his life. This person saw an opportunity to make big bucks. If this came up in court, Prince would probably be reprimanded and told to give back the stuff, maybe he'd be fined, or perhaps the judge would have a few choice words for him and the dude involved. Perhaps there was a reason he decided to keep it, if he really did. I wouldn't put it past the dude to make up a story and post it online just so he could begin to add fuel to the fire he was trying to start (for publicity sake only, of course). Some feel that any type of publicity is good publicity. Perhaps he is of that mind set. People who have worked with Prince directly spoke out and said he has been gracious and a professional to them. But he has always been one to try to protect what is rightfully his, and I would say, that his image is rightfully his. Just because you have a camera does not give you the right to take a picture of a person if they do not wish you to do so. If the guy really cared about this stuff, he should have had a binding contract executed between himself and Prince. Then, Prince would be liable and have to return the merchandise. And finally, on the subject of images, with everything that can be done digitally with imaging in today's world of technology, I don't blame Prince one single solitary bit for not wanting anyone to have images of him that can be digitized and turned into something he would not want. When we became so technologically advanced with imaging science, that is when it also became damaging. Imagine how you would feel if someone took a picture of you doing something that would embarrass you and your family and you knew you had nothing to do with it but yet they had a picture of you, which they then posted on line for all the world to see. How do you get around stuff like that? You don't allow them to do it in the first place. I can really understand why Prince is against people having pictures and other digital media of his image or performances. These types of materials should be for his own profit, no one elses. When they become artists, they can have someone take pictures of themselves and let them do what they want with them. The tables would be completed turned then, wouldn't they?

50. Your comments: Prince is like a lot of other stars and very rich people. They do not
think they have to pay for anything. Everything is just given to
them. To be seen at a restaurant the food is free. Their clothes are
free for them to wear. Look at the award shows and the goodie bag
given to them for just showing up to the award show. The car dealer
gives you a free car because you are driving it around to have your
picture taken. When they have to put their hand in their own pocket
they are VERY cheap! Most of them do not leave a tip.
