Brad Garrett Swings at TMZ -- Again!

Brad Garrett bitchslapped a TMZ photog back in August, after taking out some frustration on the wrong guy -- and yesterday went on TV to actually defend his hit.


Garrett was on "Good Day L.A.," where he slammed TMZ by saying, "They're not journalists" -- and that he was "ambushed" while on a date at Nobu. Garrett also said he hit a man wearing a turban. That was not the case. The guy he actually hit was our turban-less cameraman!

What Garrett failed to mention were the alleged racial slurs behind the incident. On the night of the slapping, one of the photogs in front Nobu told Brad that he was offended by remarks Brad made toward black people. Obviously upset by the question, Brad turned and hit our guy -- who hadn't said a word the entire night.

Dorothy Lucey rallied support for Harvey Levin though, and said, "He's an investigative reporter, he's the only one left in television news." Thanks, Dorothy!

18. Watch the segment again. Dorothy wasn't talking about Harvey. She was responding to Brad's question about her husband, David Goldstein - a CBS investigative reporter.

20. He is right, TMZ is not a true "investigative journo" site. Its a celeb/stalker/gossip rag. People like it the way people enjoy The Enquirer. While they get the gossip right its a far cry from investigative journalism. TMZ rarely follows up, If they had any journalism cred they would have filed a California Public Records Act lawsuit to obtain the video tape of Mel Gibson's arrest, among other issues TMZ does not follow up on. So on the journalism end, weak weak weak, on the gossip end, not so much.

21. the news lady who brad was talking to (ie. dorothy) was describing her husband as one the last investigative repoters...not tmz's harvey levin. she loves to slurp on tmz but not this time...she was slurpin the guy who bought her her malibu lifestyle. i've met brad he's a nice guy....but he's a media whore now that he's on a crappy show. nobu in malibu is like the ivy....go there and it screams to the world your a has-been.

22. TMZ lost my confidence when they mentioned Dorothy Lucey, she is such a bimbo. You all should hear her ttalk politics. The raspy voice blonde bimbo should stick to entertainmt reporting and leave politics to Chris Wallace.

24. Love Brad Garrett, but don't always like him. However, he's right, here. The paparazzi that follow him and other celebs around, 24/7, aren't journalists. They're people w/o real jobs. Not even the lovable Harvey Levin is a journalist. But, at least Harvey has a good job. He's a lawyer. Though, Harvey, please don't become a journalist. We don't want you to turn into that *-hole, Geraldo Rivera.

28. He didn't slap the camera man, he hit the light that was shining in his face. TMZ tries to make the paps seem like nice guys when all they try to do is provoke a response out of the celebs. They are jerks not journalist.

29. I believe Dorothy Lucey was referring to her husband, David Goldstein, as the only investigative reporter left in town, not Harvey Levin (who I think is very cool).
