Britney Cuts Deal in Hit and Run Case

10/18/2007 10:05 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned Britney Spears has settled her civil case with the owner of the car she hit in a parking lot last August.
Britney Spears
The L.A. City Attorney had filed criminal hit and run charges against Spears. Law enforcement sources have told TMZ that if Spears reached a civil settlement, the hit and run case would probably be dropped.

Sources say Spears has agreed to pay the car owner approximately $1,000 for damage plus rental car expenses. Settlement papers are set to be signed on Monday.

Spears has also been charged with driving without a license. Law enforcement tells us that charge probably will not be dropped as a result of the civil settlement.

for those who say it was just a little paint...

it was atleast a foot long scrape, and a very dented door.. from when the mental midget opened her door into the other car. paint cracks when a zone on a car is crumpled like the door and the whole thing needs to be repainted after it is replaced onr punched back out into shape. depending on the colours.. there can be atleast 3 layers of paint, as well as several layers of underoating and fill for the scratches.

painting takes hours, sometimes days depending on the model.. and this was a mercedes-benz, late model mind you, but still not a cheap ford or dodge.

If i was in the situation i would think it is very fair. But so help me I think these stars need Legal guardians to take care of them, because they seem unable to care for themselves. Britney was famous from an early age so she like many others have not learned the things normal people have had to learn, she needs someone to look after her, mentor her and keep her from doing brainless things. She like many others is like a kid in a adult body in some ways and needs to be looked after. Being so famous is like living in a glass cage, they love the money and fame but resent being trapped all the time. It is a hard life when you just want to be like everyone else sometimes, but you can't.

53. Britney, I don't listen to your songs but I am impressed by how you have been handling your recent problems. I want to encourage you never to give up. You are still young and have a long way to go in this life, so push on, fight on, baby, because the Universe is behind you. You are the reigning Queen of American pop music and you shall continue being that for a long time. Then you are also going to find even greater fame in movies. Your future is very bright. That is my prediction for you.

what do i know?

I have to know what drugs are out there that can make one so delusional to believe that Britney is "handling her situation very well","getting her life together", "push on, fight on, baby, because the Universe is behind you.". The woman is looking at an overdose, a vehicular homicide, a fatal car accident in the next 5 years, or a nervous breakdown if she don't do a quick 360.
If you people really love her, you'll encourage her to grow up, settle down, stop partying, find herself. All you guys are doing by saying "she's handling herself well", is your contributing to her own tragedy!!
