Ellen's Last Words on Iggy -- Stop the Violence!

After pleading over the airwaves for Iggy the Dog for the past few days, Ellen DeGeneres is giving her final statement about the situation.

After her usual dance onto the set of her talk show, a somber DeGeneres told the audience, "I think this is the last time I'm talking about this." In the episode, airing today, Ellen goes on to say how appreciative she is for all the letters and e-mails she's received, but warns her supporters not to resort to violence to make their point.

The only way she'd bring up Iggy again, she says, is if she's "lucky enough to say one day to you, Iggy has returned ... we'll have Iggy on the show to show you if that happens."

31. RUBY is resorting to pride. Her way, her contract, etc. It is not that a contract isn't actionable, but sometimes there is a better way through a matter. I would think that if the home is a good one, it makes no sense to stick to a contract, instead of the well being of the animal. Especially, if the contract has been written in the best interests of the animal as it's primary objective. Ruby: check out the home the dog is living in. Then let it stay there and stop this nonsense.

33. I appreciate Ellens honesty and her heartfelt show of emotions. Although she is a celebrety; she is also a human being. She is showing her human vulnerability and I think thats a beautiful thing. We all make mistakes. Shouldn't we forgive her and practice a little empathy? Remember when you have one finger pointed at her you have four fingers pointing back at yourself.

34. As an adoptive parent, I wish this would stop being an "adoption issue" in the media...it's a dog rescue organization.

Luckily, Iggy won't be put to sleep. Sadly, everyone here lost because the over-attached dog nazi had to 'win'.

The little girls will live and learn and get over it. So will Ellen and her partner. Neither will probably EVER take in a 'rescue' dog again from anywhere but the ASPCA...which is probably better for dogs everywhere!

What I can't figure out is how it eluded LAPD that this is a 'civil case' and there was never a 'criminal case' to be investigated. The dog nazi was allowed into the home under false pretenses and attempted to steal something/someone. If she had legitimately feared for this dogs wellbeing she could have called the police herself and reported abuse. That's not what happened. The police, IMO, should have referred her to her lawyer to file a lawsuit. They had no business making a 'judgement' about that situation.

Where's the investigation of the officer who blew it? Where's the statement from LAPD? Where's the civil lawsuit paperwork that Ellen should file?Violence won't solve a damn thing...htis is about control and money. Take them both away from this dog nazi!

36. This organization getting death threats over this is so STUPID!!

They have the right to have rules on how they run their business. "THIS PERSON (MAN) DID NOT FOLLOW THE RULES. Innocent people were put into this.

They did not have the dog that long & already have another dog.

Why doesn't "THIS PERSON" just buy them another dog?

THE CRYING BIT ON THE SHOW THIS WEEK WAS A STUNT!!

READ WHAT YOU SIGN. UNDERSTAND THE RULES.

DO NOT GET MAD AT THE ORGANIZATION BECAUSE YOU SCREWED UP. AND, DO NOT TELL THEM WHAT TO DO.

37. to #31...ruby is the little girl that ellen gave the dog to. ruby and iggy are the only truly innocent ones in this situation. i think you meant marina..that is the nutjob that took iggy away from a crying 12 yr. old out of spite and wouldn't even let the little girl say goodbye.
ellen made a mistake and she admitted it. she begged the lady to give ruby a chance and let her keep iggy. marina entered ruby's home under false pretenses..the family thought she was there to do the home inspection and the family was willing to comply with all of the rules and regulations mutts and moms impose...however, marina picked up the dog and refused (refused!) to even talk about it. if you watch the video marina acts much more childish than ruby. i really doubt that little dog has been adopted by anyone else...would you adopt a dog from that organization after all of the mess? what happens if marina wakes up tomorrow and decides that "her" dogs can only live in homes with 3 trees in the backyard
or no cats living on the entire block? poor little iggy and poor little ruby...they have been screwed over by a lady who appears to be suffering from a napoleonic syndrome.

39. Most people adopt a pet and keep it for life not 2 weeks or 6 months so this problem rarely comes up. Others that couldn't/wouldn't make it work are thrilled to have the option or criteria to return the pet to where they adopted it from, unless you like to break agreements. There are even some reputable breeders that have the same clause, that pup must come back to them if you don't want it be it 3 months or 3 years from when you bought it. This pup has a new home, this Rescue group appears reputable, leave them alone, watch Ellen today and drool over a TV star. I can't believe the sicko humans that reacted over this that could really care less about the welfare of this pup. I am sure the agency gave them ample opportunity to return the dog and they refused, so they made the bed now they have to lie and cry in it. Move on, it's over, find another reason to act psycho over hollywood people.

44. I once again say, after posting yesterday, Ellen was wrong in what she did. I do cat rescue and we clearly tell each person adopting a cat from us if the situation doesn't work out, bring the pet back to us and that has happened. What most people don't get is, we spend alot of money of each pet before they're adopted out. Ryan Seacrest made a comment on E yesterday saying the dog hadn't even been spayed. Well, Ryan, most likely it's because the dog is too young to be spayed and rescue groups give a certificate, included in the fee, to get them spayed when they're old enough. I doubt very seriously these people adopted this dog out inappropriately. The rescue group was in the right and most people don't get it. I feel sorry for the women who are getting threats. Ellen started this. I hope she feels good about the death threats. Crying like that on t.v. was drama at its best.
