Ellen's Last Words on Iggy -- Stop the Violence!

After pleading over the airwaves for Iggy the Dog for the past few days, Ellen DeGeneres is giving her final statement about the situation.

After her usual dance onto the set of her talk show, a somber DeGeneres told the audience, "I think this is the last time I'm talking about this." In the episode, airing today, Ellen goes on to say how appreciative she is for all the letters and e-mails she's received, but warns her supporters not to resort to violence to make their point.

The only way she'd bring up Iggy again, she says, is if she's "lucky enough to say one day to you, Iggy has returned ... we'll have Iggy on the show to show you if that happens."

76. Ellen is clearly dealing with serious emotional issues in her personal life that she recklessly allowed to seep into this matter involving the dog--it is called "Emotional Transference".

We have witnessed her act in a inappropropriete manner, abusing her position as a broadcaster to bully and endanger the lives and safety of innocent persons over a dog that Ellen didn't care enough to keep...a dog that she did not want, or she never would have given it away.

At this time in our history...our country is at war. There is an active genicide going on in Darfur...in the Sudan...global climate change is threatening the world with a possible mass extinction....AIDs is killing millions, and child molesters are threatening our children....etc., and yet Ellen is crying over not getting her way over a dog adoption....and through her inaction in failing to ask her fans to stop making death threats against the animal adoption agency, she has willfully endorsed these threats by the sheer omission of not telling her fans to stop such illegal activity on her behalf.

Ellen should be asshamed of herself. This is irresponsible...selfish....and just plain vicious. Obviously a more than accurate reflection of her true character...one that has now been exposed for all the world to see!!!

80. I wonder why people get their pets from such fanatical groups? If you do, then accept the consequences. It seems such energy could be spent on human children who it seems don't warrent the same amount of concern as dogs.

81. While Ellen did make a mistake, which she admitted, there is something odd about the shelter. She spent over $3000 on this dog, including having a chip put in. Her name was supposed to be ON the chip, and it wasn't. So if the dog had been lost, someone else's name was on the chip! Hmmm. Plus, the shelter owner has been downright nasty, judging by what I've seen on the news. Ellen has been totally honest, takes the blame, and begs the dog be given to the kids. The dog was sold to someone else. Interesting. I'm questioning all the 'death threats' and comments on the tape this woman is playing, supposedly from Ellen's staff. I really doubt this. Ellen is a nice person. She is very caring, gives and gives to charities, and tries to help people all the time. I realize that a lot of people post here to be agitating, just as on all message boards. I'm kind of sick of it.

82. This is an absolutely insane situation. Don't we all wish that we had our own shows so that we could get the public enraged and any cause we cared to present? Contract was signed. Ellen didn't honor it. Betcha if I signed a contract that Ellen had me sign, I surely have to honor it. And, how long did Ellen give the cat and dog to get along? I don't think two weeks is enough time and Ellen threw in the towel pretty fast. How awful that she got people so riled at the woman who runs the company Mutts and Moms. I don't like that she swooped the dog away from the family without checking to see if they may have been the right family for that dog. Most breeders have the 'return to breeder' clause in their contracts. It's not uncommon. But most people can't go cry their hearts out to get public sympathy.

This never should have been discussed on Ellen's show. She had plenty of time to compose herself. It was a ploy for public support. Good grief. Ellen - my advice - "get over it". The kids will be fine. Go buy them another dog. Rescue one from the county shelter. They'll be thrilled. I'm sure the trauma hasn't been so severe that they need counseling or anything.

89. Agaihn Ellen....you used your show to make this public which was wrong. You got TMZ involved to video this event...again wrong.

You created this fiasco where both the rescue group and now the other family are getting harrassed and death threats.

You have handled this improperly and should not have allowed this to get public. You were wrong

90. ahh so that's how mutts and moms suppliment their business...

they rent out dogs.. taken them back.. rent them out again.. etc

and it's all run out of a dog store... yes! sounds so legit!

SPCA, you're saving an animal, not renting it, and no one is going to take it away.
