Ellen's Last Words on Iggy -- Stop the Violence!

After pleading over the airwaves for Iggy the Dog for the past few days, Ellen DeGeneres is giving her final statement about the situation.

After her usual dance onto the set of her talk show, a somber DeGeneres told the audience, "I think this is the last time I'm talking about this." In the episode, airing today, Ellen goes on to say how appreciative she is for all the letters and e-mails she's received, but warns her supporters not to resort to violence to make their point.

The only way she'd bring up Iggy again, she says, is if she's "lucky enough to say one day to you, Iggy has returned ... we'll have Iggy on the show to show you if that happens."

91. I believe TMZ was involved because on the phone the muttlady had stated prior to the 'we are just going to make a home visit' phone call that she was going to alert the press if Ellen didnt return the dog. I am sure the family knew that things could get iffy. Also if you read and watched the videos you know one video of her outside snatching the dog was taken by the family. In the TMZ video you hear the dad say he videotaped it and they can have it. TMZ got there when Ellen came. I am sure she called someone because when a wench threatens to take it public with the media you have to play cuthroat as well. She made sure she had media as well to tell her story before the lying bitch could spin her web of deceit for the public. The most damning video was taken by the family since the mutts were there for quite some time. hours. It wasnt like TMZ got there 5 minutes after the muttlady did. Who brings a bodyguard to do a home visit on a dog? Seriously? She knew things were going to get nasty.

92. This organization for animals is a joke!! Lets see, we have a woman who has enough money to buy any breed of dog in the world. Ellen is an animal lover, and has stated that before. She comes in and adopt a dog, and taked the dog home, but finds out that the mix between the dog and her cats is not good, so since the cats have been around first, she has to get rid of the dog. Ellen doesnt give the dog back to an orgnization, that may, or may not be able to adopt the dog, instead she gives it to a good friend, that I am sure she felt would give the dog a good home.

Ellen is upset, because this so-called animal loving group is taking the dog from a good home, and sent back to the shelter. Ellen has a live show, and is human. She was honest, she said I cant come here and pretend like everything is fine today when its not. You are bashing her for being real?

These mothers for mutts, are being nasty, and using legal-semantics to be nasty. Ellen is a rich person who could buy the perfect pet, if she truly didnt love animals would she get one from a shelter. Would she put itin a home that was bad? Common sense was far lacking by this organization. They have used their legal authority, when it really wasnt needed. The dog had a good home. To the leval this nut-group has taken this, you would think they were fighting for an abused child.

I can totally see why Ellen did this. I too am a animal lover, and I adopted a dog from a shelter, and the dog, and my other dog could not get along, and ended up fighting. I only had the dog for a week, but the dog was nice, but my dog hated her. I had to make a choice, get rid of my dog I had for 14 years, or take the other one back, and hope someone would adopt her, or risk no one adopting her, and eventually being put to sleep, So I did the same thing, I gave her to a really good friend of mine, who had no other animals, and they are healthy and happy today. I can see the dog, and have over the past 5 years.

This nut-group has lost iste of its real purpose, and they are flexing their legal authority at the exspense of the animal, by trying to prove a point.

93. ***************** I SMELL A LAWSUIT ******************

THIS THING IS A TOTAL SET-UP !!!!!!!! The next move on the part of the dog "rescuer" is to sue Ellen (personal distress, etc....). You know that 2 bit ambulance chasing attorney is just dying to be in the spotlight and get his hands on a nice sized cut of whatever the law suit will be for..............that's the way the roll in LALA LAND.

94. My opinion is Ellen saw this blowing up in her face when the rescue agency threatened media involvement so she went into damage control with this sobbing/slobbering display. Probably her publicists idea. Nevertheless this person who took back the dog has done more irreparable damage to the adoption/rescue industry than can be imagined. I don't know why anyone would go to one of these rescue places now. What's wrong with the local shelter? That's where these rescue places get most of their dogs to sell anyway and you don't have all this baggage.

Ellen is as nice in person as she is on TV. She genuinely cares about animals and people. I admire her so much.

97. Sounds to me like Marina was waiting for a table at P.F. Changs and got ticked off because a celebrity came in and was seated right away. This wasn't a case of a celebrity being above the law until she made it such. I'm sure Ellen would have settled this out of the spotlight if Marina hadn't been such a creep.

Living in LA isn't easy if you're not one of the pretty people. Being the dog nazi gives her control.

Too bad she had to hurt the reputation of rescue agencies everywhere (I'm sure some of them are ok) and countless animals will suffer. Way to go, Dog Nazi Marina!

98. Does anyone else find humor in the name of an agency? Mutts and Moms - an agency that doesn't allow families with children under 14 to adopt??

100. I am going to tell you all something. Legally pets are sonsidered property. Doesnt matter that we feel different, the law considers them property. So they are legally on the same leval as a car. If Ellen paid them any money for this dog contract or not, this is her property, and under law, we can give our property to any person we wish. Now I understand why this shhelter has this bring-bacl-clause, they dont want to risk some dirt-bag getting a hold of the animal if you cant keep it. But legally, it could be Ellens property. I know she paid adoption fees, but they are property by law, and not children. This contract is useless.

101. Degeneres managed to use her power and influence in the media to shut down Mutts & Moms. The world is a better place now that one more animal rescue shelter is defunct. Congratulations Ellen for a job well done.

102. Jim Tolley needs quit worrying bout everyone else (muslims included) and start worrying bout himself. Those fundamentalists are always the worst ones. Besides, this thread is about a DOG so if you can't respect that then get off.

103. Mutts and Moms has a real chance to turn this around here. If Ellen just offered to feature Iggy being reunited with his family on her show then they can make a huge move foward here and take this opportunity to show they're not the Doggie Gestapo and maybe repair their name. They have no one to blame but themselves, but Ellen is offering a chance to turn this around.

If they are truly smart people and they really do care about the other animals they have then they will take this, put Iggy back with his little girls, and let Ellen get the story out there. They've probably lost a lot of donations, but they do have a chance to salvage some of this by being reasonable and admitting they were wrong and doing the right thing.

Ellen made a mistake, she owned up to it. Now she's trying to give them a chance to do the same thing. This will tell whether they care about their egos or their animals. Think about how many they could potentially adopt out if they appear on Ellen's show.

Your move, M&M.

104. This one yes! They were concerned more about flexing thier so-called legal authority, then what was truly in the dogs best intrest. I am hope these nutty-women stop their shelter.

i would really like to see that tested in the court of law.

*is the contract actually enforcable?
*are the pets rented or property?
*what are the limits? can they remove it in 3 years? how long is the contract valid?
*can you move with your pet? (it is said some say if you move out of state you have to return it)
*what DO they truely have the right to know?
