31. I think Paris was invited by the Playing For Good Foundation to go to Africa.
Hell, if she wants to do good let her. Every little bit helps.

No one can stay a silly teenager forever and if Paris is growing up I say good for her.
Let her spend money on worthy causes and bring attention to needy areas around the world.

32. Scott Lazerson from the Playing for good group is a businessman who is getting celebs interested in helping needy families around the world, especially children.
He is doing a good thing in getting celebs educated that there is a real need all over.

Hey, if any celebs can be persuaded to be less selfish and help others - good for them! Goldie Hawn and Tony Parker are in the group too.

33. no amount of pretending to 'care about others' will ever erase Paris' self serving persona.

34. Paris Hilton is still very young and her potential for helping others is immeasurable, especially with the Hilton Foundation backing her up.
Please do not discourage her in her intitial attermpts to be a better person.Perhaps she will become the next Brooke Astor.

Many people have overcome the mistakes and embarrassments of their youth, and Paris Hilton can do the same thing. She seems to be sincere, so give her a chance.
The proof is in the pudding, and if she is still doing charity in ,say, a couple of years from now we know she means it.
There is certainly no lack of needy causes, both at home and abroad.

35. I can understand your attempt at humor, TMZ. Many of us view PH’s trip to Africa under the guise of a “philanthropist” as rather obscene. But to include the name of this shallow, moronic sycophant in the same article with a great man like Nelson Mandela -- in any context -- is shabby journalism. Humorous, or otherwise.

36. TMZ, you had me until you messed with Nelson Mandela, a man who has done more for this world than you can ever hope to do. Ex-con? Do you even know what he was (UNJUSTLY) thrown in jail all those years for? SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!

38. So the Hilton Foundation is the reason Paris was “invited.” Unlike other celebrities, she’d never get there on her own “credentials.” Everyone knows how Paris has used the media for years to get any kind of attention – she’s always been incredibly self-absorbed.

Often ridiculed because of her own actions, she really has no choice but to finally involve herself in charitable causes – it’s her last shot at any kind of public acceptance. It’s not as if a filmed, highly publicized 5-day trip will inconvenience her. This blatant PR move certainly comes as no surprise.

I AM SO FREAKING OUTRAGED I CANNOT SEE STRAIGHT..........STOP THE WORLD I NEED TO GET OFF........

41. I can't believe this drunk Whore can go Overseas and expect to inprove her image when she has a sex tape on UTUBE and one for sale on porn sites she's making money from! She's nothing more than a common drunk Holloywood Whore ! Trying to dig her way out of the mud!

42. To Harris (#33)

“Don’t discourage her from her initial attempts to be a better person?” Please don’t be offended, but to me you sound like a mother protecting her 15-year old child. This 27-year old woman has always been extremely determined to do exactly what she wants.

For example, as for this trip to Africa, we understand that this visit is going to be filmed as part of a reality show for the media. As if anyone could stand in her way of that kind of media attention. We’d get trampled to death in the stampede.

43. #15, shut up. What ever Paris Hilton a worthy candidate for doing such things? Oh, right, her sluttiness, stupidity, and feaux celebrity status. Okay, it all makes sense now. Glad that was all cleared up.

Seriously, though, I really think that this whole "attitude change" she's supposedly had, is basically just a front, and that she's still that same moron, who wants to go out and party, get as much attention as possible, and flaunt how much money and fame she has, ALL of which is unwarranted. And that this whole "going to Africa to be a good samaritan, and to show the world what's wrong with the world" thing is only yet another attention-grabbing stunt. Key word there is STUNT. Why else would she want to have the entire thing filmed and broadcast? It's not to show the world what sorts of evils and such go on in Africa, that's for sure. All she wants is more attention, more attention, and MORE ATTENTION. Nothing else. She doesn't care about those suffering people in Africa. They're just another way to keep her ugly face in the media, and to grab that much more attention and adoration from idiots like you. And to believe otherwise is ignorance, naivety, and stupidity.

As the old saying goes, "A leopard doesn't change its spots." Don't think for one second that Paris Hilton has changed at all, because I guarantee you she hasn't.

45. Just what Africa needs with the AIDS epidemic! A prime example of the actions that contribute to AIDS appearing in person by none other than Paris Hilton. Maybe she'll try and promote one of her sex tapes while she is there and contribute the proceeds as a charitable contribution to the AIDS Foundation.
