Michael Douglas' Son to Stand Trial on Drug Charges

The son of Michael Douglas has been ordered to stand trial on cocaine possession charges.

Cameron Douglas has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic needle. Charges were filed against 28-year-old Cameron Douglas and his friend, 30-year-old Christopher Lane.

At a pretrial hearing, charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance were added for Douglas, based on the testimony of a Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputy.

The charges stem from their arrest on July 22, when police found Douglas and Lane in a car near a Santa Barbara, Calif. motel -- and found a syringe on the floorboard with liquid cocaine in it. According to the arresting officer, Lane told him the syringe was his.

Both men will be back in court for an arraignment on November 16.

Cameron Douglas appeared with his father and grandfather, Kirk Douglas, in the 2003 film "It Runs in the Family."

32. Everybody has a "sad" story.....can we all go on Oprah and tell it????Get something like a book deal?????Go around whining????? How about just get off your ass and do something with your life. My God these celebrity people are tiresome, sometimes good for a laugh, but really, people. Haven't we had enough this week with the EllenDog thing? Which wealthy person do we need to feel sorry for next????They are ludicrous, overpaid, but ludicrous.

41. Candy, #9, I don't think you have any place to lecture anyone about the supposed sorry state of "education." If you're as old as you indicate, they apparently didn't do much better in your time. And look at our leaders now; they are members of YOUR generation. Then again, I'm not surprised that someone too simple to use the caps lock key properly can't spell, or construct a sentence or a coherent point, for that matter.

45. Its to bad alot of you people do not understand addiction. Not that it excuses any of his or his friends behavior. I agree the parents need to intervien and at least get involved and try to get him into some sort of long term treatment. Or if that has been done maybe it is time for so long term time in jail to wake him up before he hurts himself or someone in public.
