Malibu Celebs on Fire Watch

James Cameron and Olivia Newton-John have been evacuated, and there are many more celebs in the Malibu area whose homes are in danger. Numerous homes along Pacific Coast Highway have been evacuated.

The Malibu County and Carbon Beach residents include: Jennifer Aniston, Sting, Bill Murray, Nick Nolte, Robin Wright Penn, Mel Brooks, Tatum O'Neal, Rob Reiner, Goldie Hawn, Linda Ronstadt, Jeff Bridges, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg,Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

The fire is believed to have started when arcing power lines, downed by fierce Santa Ana winds, ignited dry brush around 5:00 AM Sunday. California has had one of the worst droughts in years, leaving hillsides especially vulnerable to brushfires. Over 1000 acres and numerous structures have already burned. More than 500 firefighters from all over the area are fighting the flames -- still being fanned by gusting winds, which are expected to continue for several days. Roughly 200 homes have been evacuated.

UPDATE: Sources on the scene tell TMZ that homes belonging to Mark Hamill, Sean Penn and David Duchovny are all in danger.

46. Wow, 500 firefighters can be on the seen within minutes of a fire coming close to rich peoples homes and it took 5 days for help to arrive in New Orleans.

47. Hundreds of people lose their homes every day to natural disasters and they do not make the headlines. I'm sorry for their loss. California is known for hurricanes, floods, landslides, earthquakes & wildfires. I mean seriously. If you choose to live in an area that has associated risks, then are we supposed to feel sorry for you?

48. Hey it sux's to lose your house whether you're rich or not..All homeowners should have fire insurance etc and if you don't then you are trash and should consider moving into a trailer park.

50. I agree that it sucks to loose your house no matter what, but it sucks more when you have to depend on your insurance company to help you instead of the millons of dollars you already have. There are still people in New Orleans who haven't been helped by the insurance companies that took their monthly premiums for years.

51. You poor people are funny. Trashing the wealthy. Make you feel better? Keep on
buying those LOTTERY TICKETS and then maybe one day you'll be just like us -- the very
people you seem to despise. Pathetic.

A special thanks to all of the fire fighters, brave men and women all.

52. How can you be so callous?...It should not matter how much money these people have. Sentimental things are not replaceable. (rich or not).. Try being kind, it feels much better!

55. Quit with the complaints about a pop up...dont blame TMZ. I dont get them. Put your pop up blockers on people. If you dont know how than, ask. If it still doesnt work, than you have a virus. TMZ is not the ones doing it.

If you still think TMZ is to blame, than write them in the Tips seciton. They dont read comments here, this site is controlled by a Generic Host Serving Company that hosts hundreds of other sites.

57. who the F___k cares! tmz, why the need to make numerous news stories about every friggin structure in malibu? just about every celebrity that lives there has other primary residences . they'll just go out a buy a new "home" bc they're pigs & can never have enough. they'll just feel the need to waste more energy & resources so they can replace needless over-priced posessions. any celebrity that claims to be environmentally conscious is full of it and they'll tell you that as they're hopping out of one of their many energy-guzzling overpriced SUV/sportscar/limo or whatever toy they have to have. sorry, no sympathy here....

59. I am not very concerned about houses that are buring down. I just got an update and I have been told that 4 fire fighters have been burned.
Please keep the fire fighter in your thoughts and prayers.

60. I hope Pam Anderson's gold and diamond encrusted hot tub dont get damaged in the fire. That would be a tragedy 10 time worse than Katrina. I'm too worried about the rich to eat or sleep.
