Heartbreak Castle

Lilly Lawrence, Elvis PresleyWhen Malibu Castle Kashan burned to the ground yesterday, Princess Lilly Lawrence lost her home, family heirlooms, jewelry and presidential memorabilia -- but she did manage to save the King's pants.

TMZ has learned that one of the few things the Princess was able to salvage from the castle was a pair of Elvis Presley's Army fatigues. But she did lose her other Elvis memorabilia -- including 32 original Elvis Presley movie scripts with his handwritten notes in the margins.

When Kim Novak's home burned here in Southern Oregon, she lost her scripts from Vertigo and Picnic.

It always surprises me when people of wealth don't do much to protect, preserve, and duplicate their treasures, or at least manuscripts and photos. Today it is so easy to duplicate photos and paper items. Then put the originals in safe deposit boxes in banks that won't flood or burn! A special fireproof building should have been built for Elvis' stuff; the woman certainly had enough money to do this! Especially with Malibu's propensity for burning up!

Unreal that she didn't have these items in a safe deposit box. Absolutely unreal & completely irresponsible.

I live in Los Angeles and wildfires are a common yearly headache. Malibu exists in a high-risk area for fires and mudslides. I would think that a multi-millionaire would be able to afford to protect priceless objects and artifacts. To purchase precious memorabilia and not safeguard it against theft and/or disaster is reckless, pure and simple.

It was just a garish-looking faux castle anyhow. Frankly, it will be nice to see that natural mountain unobstructed in the background again - it would be nice if the next homebuilder on that site is prohibited from building a McMansion.

The iranian national was insured adequately, and, possessions sound meaningless to her.

Yea, you would think that things as valuable as those you'd have them in a locked up secured building in the middle of no natural diasters

ugh.. what a damn shame

here are pics of the castle

# 6 " When I first heard that this was a, "castle," I thought that meant it was a stone and mortar, "castle." I've even seen pics of it before it was destroyed. But apparently this stupid, "castle," was made of wood, or something flammable, because the d*mn thing burned to the frickin' ground. What a friggin' joke on the public."

I was puzzled as to how it burned so completely and fast lol but also assumed wrong that it was made of brick & stone.
They did a hollywood set job on it.
Wonder if "The princess" is real or just a illusion as well.

What a tragedy. Such a huge loss and the owner must be devastated. I think that she preserved this for future generations and because she must have a great love for Elvis. Thank you for trying to save whatever you could. Again, a huge loss. (and the house was nice too)

Can't stand listening to how horrid it is that all the Hollyweirdies homes are being burned up but, no real concern over Katrina victims. I am not in the least concerned over these people in Malibu and ETC. that have lost their homes, they didn't seem to concerned over the good people in Louisiana and Miss. losing their homes (and still don't care). Oh well, if you jerks are worthy maybe Brad and Angelina will come to your rescue and rebuild !!! NOT !! LOL

WHat is this woman the PRINCESS OF?
Anybody know?

I know she ruled over a fake WOODEN castle....and was too dumb to put things in a fireproof safe. Even I have things in a fireproof safe out here in green and humid Connecticut.
