Dog Gone Wild! Chapman Barks for Joe Francis

"Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis has an unlikely best friend in his fight against the law -- famed bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman.
Dog Chapman and Joe Francis
Chapman -- star of A&E's "Dog the Bounty Hunter" -- calls Francis' imprisonment a "travesty," and is offering to co-sign Francis' bond in his Florida criminal case.

But there's definitely some bite to Chapman's bark: "If he violates his bail in any way," says Dog, "I will personally track him down to the ends of the earth at no charge, and bring him back before the judge." Don't make the Dog mad!

Chapman's wife Beth is also getting in the act, offering to personally write Francis' bond, exposing the family to even more liability if Joe violated bail. Dog says that he's making the offer unsolicited, after listening to Joe on FOX News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren."

Francis is currently held in a Nevada jail, awaiting trial on federal tax evasion charges. Though his bail has been granted in Nevada, he can't leave because his bond on a separate case has been revoked in Florida, meaning that he'd be shipped back to a Fla. jail once he set foot outside his Washoe County, Nev. facility.

32. Too many of the posters think what is happening here is fair because they don't like Joe's company. Fair enough, you don't have to like his business, then don't buy his product, but this case has stunk from the begining.

Panama City leaders didn't like the GGW bus rolling into their town back in 2003 and so they were laying in wait to find any reason to shut GGW down and get them out of town. To that end, some cops, who never witnessed anything themselves, signed an affidavit saying they received reports of under-aged girls being taped. They got a judge to sign search warrants based on their affidavit. The cops then raided GGW and seized everything insight. Only after reveiwing "100s of hours" of tape did the the prosecutor determine that some girls, based on their appearance, might be under age. They then started the case against Joe. In the meantime, they had to track down and identify the girls on the tape they thought were under age. Some ultimately were, but GGW contends they used fake IDs to get filmed.

Yeah, Joe can be abbrasive, afterall he is a go-getter type, but this is still america and you don't have to be an attorney to see how this crimnal case in FL has been a rail road job from the beginning. After it got started in FL, then the subsequent federal and civil suits began piling on. I don't know if the federal tax evasion charges are legit. it seems If he relied on his attorneys and CPA, then he shouldn't be culpable, but sometimes people still are made to pay for tax issues even when it's not their fault.

Whether or not you lik GGW is not the issue. It's a legal business and just because Panama City leaders thought it would portray their town in a bad light is irrelevent. Like anyone who has been to spring break there doesn't know this stuff already goes on? GGW didn't cause the behavior, they just film it and spread the word further than the city officials would have liked. The city businesses make huge profits on spring break activities and this behavior has always been the dirty little secret of what goes on there and other places. They just don't want it broadcasted. Fair enough, but don't have cops falsifying statemnts to justify seizing tape and equipment to go on a witch hunt looking for something to base criminal charges on as was done here. BTW, much of the search hass been ruled illegal and countless items seized inadmissable so far.

Seems they found a way to use the law against Joe just because they didn't like GGW. Not fair and not legal. How can you say you believe in American judicial values and support what FL state attorney is doing in this case? Watch the whole VH1 tape of the interview with the FL State Attorney. As the saying goes, "butter would melt in his mouth." This guy is sleezy. He's smooth and he says all the right things, but he is very, very smug. He spends almost 20 minutes of a 30+ minute interview going on about Joe being arrogant. geez, last i checked, that wasn't a crime.

Like I said, you don't agree with GGW or like Joe, fair enough, but this criminal case is BS!!! Anybody who believes in fundamental fiarness or the concept of innocent until proven guilty should be outraged by this case.

33. I'll bet Dog likes Joe! Beth is like one of Joe's victims!!!!! Only a LOT bigger!!!!!!

Dear Dog,
I used to like your show. Now you think you're some huge star and are always bragging on yourself. If you're so religious, you should remember that "pride goeth before the fall".

PS. It was YOUR idea for Beth's boobs to look like the stars in a freak show???? SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!

35. Dog needs to take care of what his son and his lover- daughter are saying about him, before he want's to help someone else. how can anyone like him knowing he's been with his own daughter. He should try to clear that and his fat wife should want him to, before they both try to get involved with Joe Francis. Dog should take a lie detector test like his son and daughter did. That's the only thing he should be doing. Beth is just as sick as Joe Francis is, cuz she's still with Dog. That's the reason they want to help him, cuz there just like him.

38. The dog is getting involved? My simple question is WHY? Don't you think this skanky guy has the money to post his own bond. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him. He's been making tons off of other people. It's his way of life. Wake up, Dog, --- this is a publicity stunt on YOUR part because you know damn well he'll show up for his case. He's too much in the public eye to do you wrong and you'll look like the good guy. I guess Beth never flashed him before. Maybe then you'd think twice.

39. IT FIGURES THE DOG WOULD GET INVOLVED..THE VERY "CHRISTIAN"DOG (by the way..GOD spelled backwards...) always "prays" and holds hands on the show, but is the typical hypocrite like all the other "Born Again Christians" who eventually are exposed to their real life style...eg;Haggard, Swaggart, Oral Roberts Jr. and Co."
