My only comment to your ravings is this: Why were all of the buses in N.O. underwater when Nagin could have used them to help people get out? Why did the Louisiana Governor not allow Bush's resources and manpower in at the beginning? Federal manpower and resources cannot be allowed into a state's sovreign territory until allowed in by the Governor. The reason being that the federal FUNDS were at issue. The governor wanted to control all of them. The Bush Administration said no.

The reason the levees broke is because the federal funds that had already been sent to Louisiana to shore up the levees went into other pockets in the form of graft.

If you've never enjoyed Louisiana's particular brand of graft and corruption, get a history book. It's still rampant. If you've never lived there, then you have no clue. Check and see how many of the governors, representatives and senators have been in jail for corruption.

That's like blaming Britney's alcohol and drug abuse on K-Fed.

80. hey "bush hates blacks and spics," the reason buses aren't sitting around empty is because people aren't shooting at them. those bus drivers would not go in and rescue because of bullets. but you're too busy looking for something to bitch about you must have missed that. the biggest difference is that socal wants to take care of itself. i don't see people on tv asking why aint the govment here, you sposed to take care of me. we don't need or want that, we hav e two feet to stand on....

81. The evacuees were taken care of, but I was crazy wondering why they didn't send in military water bombers and national gaurd the first day instead of 4 days after all the homes have burned down. Why does emergency response take 4 days? Bush only declared a state of emergency yesterday. What, does the fire info travel to the WhiteHouse by stagecoach?! They have to know that with winds and fires like that the whole state could go if not handled toute suite. Slow, slow, slow, slow, response to the actual fire. Perhaps with winds like that, a whole army might not have been effective; at least that's the spin on CNN.

Bush had nothing to do with the efforts and the way those people took care of each other in the first days the this disaster! Oreleans elect and then reelect an idiot for a mayor! who still does not have a plan for his city in place!
The people of California need to be commended for their ability to handle this major disaster.
All emergency services worked as they should have in the first days. Like them or not, they handled it.
Some of you people there in the sunken city will need to blame Bush long after he is gone. Like a security blanket you keep draggin him around.

One more time. The GOVERNOR has to ask before federal people and material can be brought in. The President cannot declare a disaster area because of the states' sovreign status. The Governor must ask, then the President grants. States have sovreign control over their lands. The President can't just bust in and offer relief unless "invited".

That's the way it works.

If you want to be angry, take it up with the Governator for not asking sooner.
