MLB Star's Home Gutted by Fire

David JusticeTMZ has learned the home of former baseball player (and ex Mr. Halle Berry) David Justice has been decimated by the wildfire.

Justice's neighbors include several current and former professional athletes, including Chargers star and NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson. According to the San Diego Union Tribune, the entire area was evacuated and although Justice's home burned, those of Tomlinson and former San Diego Padres player Phil Nevin did not.

Nevin told the paper his neighborhood "looks like Mars. The house across the street was engulfed in flames. It burned down in like an hour. I'm safe. My family's safe."

48. FEMA IS involved and they had a press conference about all they had learned from Katrina, such as faster deployment, etc.

Folks in Cali can be thankful that it didn't take 4 days for them to get water or food.

49. And it pisses me off, just because someone is rich you think their belongings are less valuable because they fcan "replace" them.

How do you replace family bibles, pictures, home movies, your grand-mothers china or other heirlooms?

50. And "Whatever" you are talking about a very few of the Katrina evacuees.

MOST are waiting for the Federal Gov't to survey their property or find records and proof that they actually owned the land so they can rebuild!

You are CLUELESS!

51. #42 NOW you really are a retard! Your trying to "clean up" these blogs??? are you kidding me? What's next trying to end the war in Iraq? or world hunger? Or better yet why don't you try to get Britney to act normal? Seriously deal with it ! While i don't particularly agree with many of the racial comments that a lot of these ignorent bloggers post, haven't you realized yet that it's not going to stop and and all you keep doing is going back and forth like you did in the post about the drunk guy??? There's like over 100 post and most of them are of you telling others to stop calling you names. Get over it.

52. Enough athlete worship there are hundreds of families that have lost their homes that are not has been jocks. Why doesTMZ think that anyone cares about him or any of the spoiled stars that take life for granted?

54. Didn't Left Eye Lopez or whatever from TLC torch his house down in a fit of jealous rage once too? Damn, sucks to be him.

55. As the wife of a firefighter, you all need to send prayers for everyone risking their lives fighting these raging fires, rather than bashing each other for making racial comments. At this point, the important thing is that no more lives are lost, things can be replaced, rich or poor, lives cannot. Let's get some perspective here.

56. Wasn't his house that got torched by Left eye, it was a football player from Atlanta.

Shaka, you are 100% right, everyone needs to work together to end these fires.

THEN they need to find the jackasses that started them and make them face what they have done.

57. Why isit that people that live in fire prone areas such as SoCal can get fire insurance at the going rate from their insurance company yet someone that lives on a floodplain can only get flood insurance through the government? Shouldn't these people have to pay MUCH HIGHER rates for fire insurance than the average homeowner?

58. nobody is talking about worshiping athletes

and Cali IS thankful for FEMA

not all people got out when they were told, which resulted in a death of a fireman and a handful of other firemen who are listed under critical condition. so people DO need to get up and leave if told.

60. Now the average home in New Orleans costs $129,000, down from $150,000 because of the EXPENSIVE insurance required!
