Brit to Go the Way of Paris?

TMZ is in an LA County courtroom this morning as Britney Spears' attorney prepares to plead her case.

As TMZ first reported last night, Brit's lawyer Michael Flanagan will plead not guilty to charges of driving without a valid license on behalf of Brit Brit. Flanagan told us the issue of the hit and run has been settled with the alleged victim (and the charge will most likely be dropped), but he has not yet reached an agreement with the L.A. City Attorney on the driving without a license charge.

According to Flanagan, the City Attorney wants to place Britney on 12 months of probation. If they do, and she picks up another citation or happens to run over a photographers foot, that could constitute a probation violation and she could end up in jail just like Paris. Say it ain't so! The City Attorney would not comment the specifics.

Stay tuned!

32. "Run over a photographer's foot?" For Pete's sake, why is the photographer's
foot under her car anyway. Would you stick your foot on a railroad track. Let's
call a spade a spade. The paps are all stalkers to make a quick buck. I think
Britney should sue them to make a test case.

35. If she was anyone else they'd be let off with a ticket. Why should she go to jail just because some people think she's a crap mother and a drug addict. She's passed the tests. So what if she once was one, she's clean now. Give her a break. It's not like she's getting pissed and smoking marijuana onset, now who was it who did that ......???!Can't quite remember although I swear his initials were KF!!

Oh and she's never been given a DUI so why do people keep accusing her of it?Wrong person!

36. she should get a reduced sentence for every photog's foot she runs over!!! I dont see how that is EVER going to constitute a probation violation considering "photogs" surround her car WHILE ITS IN MOTION and blind her with flash bulbs!

October 25, 2007 — Information regarding cases of serious rash, hypersensitivity reactions, and psychiatric symptoms has been added to the safety labeling for modafinil tablets (Provigil, Cephalon, Inc), the US Food and Drug Administration warned healthcare professionals yesterday.

Rare cases of life-threatening rash, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms have been reported in adults and children during worldwide postmarketing use of modafinil.

The incidence of SJS and TEN exceeds the background rate (1 – 2 cases/million-person years) despite likely underreporting. Cases of angioedema and sometimes fatal multiorgan hypersensitivity reactions have also been reported.

Patients should be instructed to immediately discontinue therapy and contact their healthcare professional if a rash or other hypersensitivity reaction occurs, according to an alert sent from MedWatch, the FDA's safety information and adverse event reporting program.

Psychiatric adverse events have also been reported in connection with modafinil, including anxiety, mania, hallucinations, and suicidal ideation. Caution is advised when treating patients with a history of psychosis, depression, or mania; discontinuation of therapy should be considered in those who develop psychiatric symptoms.

Modafinil is indicated to improve wakefulness in adult patients with narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome, and shift work sleep disorder. It is not approved for use in children.

Healthcare professionals are encouraged to contact the company at 1-800-896-5855 regarding modafinil-related cases of rash or other hypersensitivity reactions.

Adverse events related to modafinil should also be reported to the FDA's MedWatch reporting program by phone at 1-800-FDA-1088, by fax at 1-800-FDA-0178, online at http://www.fda.gov/medwatch, or by mail to 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20852-9787.

38. No matter what it takes, the best and safest place for that chick (twit) is off the streets and not behind the wheel of a car or probably behind the wheel of anything that moves.
