Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones really made one TMZ photog work hard for the money shot last night -- faking him out at Xi'an in Beverly Hills.
The A-listers exited the restaurant, to find that the valet had brought the wrong white SUV for them. It appeared that Michael didn't know if the boxy ride was his or not, until the valet said it was a Land Rover ... Douglas owns a sleek Lexus.
The two went back inside the restaurant and our photog waited for the right car to pull up -- it never did. Douglas and Zeta-Jones ended up sneaking out the back -- but TMZ ran back there just in time to get a quick wave from Catherine as they took off!

Catherine is really a AWEFUL actress, she should take some acting lessons and its such a shame to put people like her with no talent on such a hight plateau. Just shows you want the world is about.

Why is it thrilling (to some people) to watch a pissed off star waving to a photographer/stalker? TMZ writers and staff... You are literally making news out of people having their pictures taken outside of resturants and parking lots. Next time you get wasted, go in the bathroom and take a picture of yourself and post it on YouTube. See what kind of responses you get. Did you ever think: "...Gee, when I grow up I want to take pictures of drunks or write about it. But they have to be famous... Yeah! That's it! That's the carreer for me." I assume the rest of you are waiting for your scripts to sell. Waiting tables may be a little more honorable, although cliche...

Oh gee. I guess Michael and Catherine feel really good about themselves for outsmarting the photographers. Would it have been so awful to smile and wave to the cameras for their fans? Would it be too much to ask? I guess Michael and Catherine want to be left alone with all their millions of dollars THAT THEIR FANS HELPED THEM TO GET, rather then throw out a hello to us via the paparazzi.
