"Lost" Star: "I Am Deeply Ashamed and Embarrassed"

"Lost" star Daniel Dae Kim has issued the following statement to TMZ: "I am deeply ashamed and embarrassed by the events of Thursday morning. It saddens me to know that I jeopardized the welfare of the kind people of Hawaii, a community that I love and call my home. It is my intention to cooperate fully with the police and I am grateful to them for their sensitivity throughout this matter. To my friends, family, colleagues and fans, thank you for your kind words of support. To those I have disappointed I can only ask that you accept my heartfelt apologies. I am truly, truly sorry."

Kim was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence in Hawaii.

41. Wow. What a bunch of racists commenting here! Daniel Kim was raised in Pensylvania by well educated parents, and has a masters degree. With considerably more higher education than the average TMZ poster (especially #3 above), you can imagine that he is both savvy enough and articulate enough to have written the apology himself. He has what younger hollywood lacks: education and class. And, it shows in his handling of his mistake. Additionally, any decent attorney would have advised him to do exactly what he has done. Paris and her ilk should have his legal counsel.

42. Speaking as a resident of the LA area, the epidemic of celebrity drunk and/or reckless drivers is very disturbing. Ironically, if it were members of some minority group, people would be screaming for prosecution, monitoring & jail time. A significant number of celebrities are a public danger and should be publicly called out for the low-lives that they are.
