Celeb Sisters' Wildfire Rescue

Shane and Sia Barbi, aka the Barbi Twins, are helping spread the word that there weren't only people displaced by the wildfires that swept through Southern California this week -- there were pets, too.

On their website, www.thekittyliberationfront.org, the sisters have posted the contact information for dozens of animal shelters all across the area, as well as phone numbers for various VCA Animal Hospitals -- all of which are "no-kill" organizations. The cat in the above photo is actually a brown tabby the sisters found after the fire -- with no chip and no collar. All together now, "Awwwwwwww."

The models-turned-animal activists are coordinating some rescue efforts, calling for volunteers and the fostering of injured or lost animals. They are even working on a fundraiser tentatively scheduled for December 22. Shane tells TMZ, "People love animals like their family."

Check out their site for information on how you can help.

16. Wonderful!!! I am a huge animal lover, and for people who are celebrities, whatever their status is so helpful. I love the fact that they are trying to help homeless animals find their families... I would be hearbroken if i lost my pets due to a tragic emergency like the wildfires.. Good for the Barbi twins!! I am a California girl and my prayers are with all the citizens who lost their home. Keep FAITH and GOD will get you through it!

19. uhm....

ok, OK! awwwwwwwww

I have to give the Barbies credit and hope their efforts are recognized elsewhere. Seems like all we hear about celebs is either nasty/crazy stuff or nauseating promo's. Good onya TMZ for mixing it up a bit.

21. Before you start making snide comments and criticisms about the Barbi Twins' looks, demeanor, actions, etc., stop and ask yourselves, "What am I, myself, doing to help these animals?" The LEAST anybody can do is better than what you're doing: NOTHING! You're the "idiots" who make fools of yourselves by writing such crap about decent people! Go stick you head in the toilet...... and don't forget to FLUSH!!!

22. Nice to see that these two are helping out with the animals.

Not surprising to see negative remarks here though. IMO, some people seem to have sad, miserable, pathetic lives posting anything and everything negative in regards to this story.

24. Why is it has-been actresses and female performers inevitably turn to animal rescue in their twilight?

25. Hey Mark...'grunt, strain'.....there, I just replaced you with a 'poopy', so that was pretty easy. People can also look out for themselves, but animals can't. They're with them because WE choose to have them, so it's up to us to take care of them. It's great whoever these chicks are that, at least, they're doing SOMEthing.....we're all on here making comments, albeit not nearly as ignorant as yours.

26. I sure wish that everyone would microchip their pets and take them with them in an emergency

27. I hope the fire won't interfere with their next round of collagen injections. Flat, thin lips on a Barbi is like asking for a suicide watch.!!

30. No! No! No! NO!

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and local SPCA's are handling the animal rescue efforts just fine. HSUS has had 20 teams on the ground in SoCal since at least Monday. These people are highly trained to do what they do.

Note to Barbi Bimbos (and those who want to join them): Stay OUT OF THE WAY and let the pros do their work. These organizations (HSUS and SPCA) know what they're doing--and they do it well. People like these Barbi bimbos caused a lot of problems post-Hurricane Katrina; it was very frustrating.

If you want to help the animals during this current crisis, contact the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA and make a donation; they desperately need money for supplies. http://www.sdhumane.org
