I don't get the snobbery with her at all. She has wrinkled up her nose at many things and people then brings letters and phone calls from Paris Hilton to us! I just do not care for her.

Barbara Walters is a very cool 78 year-old woman who has done more to open doors for American women in broadcasting than anyone else; by example. Which means guts and smarts. The women working a TMZ owe their careers to her. As a gay man who is a journalist, I know that every time a women opens a door, a gay man has a hope of getting in too. Ms. Walters was gracious and accommodating to TMZ because that's what people of her generation believe is appropriate. Frankly, we could use more of it. And as for the "w"nonsense you seem to think is so funny, it was WAY tired twenty years ago, and it wasn't funny then either. C'mon guys, grow the "f" up.

Laughing at the expense of a senior citizen isn't the nicest thing... but it was damn funny!!

Hey #87....THEY DID let her through...she was acting as if they should have known that she lived where the baracades were put up...and how dare she have to TELL them who she was. Let's face it...she's an older journalist. Young guys...and probably a lot of people who don't watch the View and haven't seen her in years on TV ..may not recognize her. Not due to plastic surgery...she's just not as recognized by some people as she used to be when there were THREE channels on TV..lol!

Well said...she thinks she is the Qweeen' of ediquette. A true lady behaves like a lady NATURALLY. Babwa' over acts to the point that she looks rediculous when she's attempting to pretend that she is so well polished and trying to set an example for her subjects/hosts on the View. That is one reason I say she is sooo pretentious.

She's the kind of person in broadcasting that would go nuts if they didn't have a camera on them. She lives for being noticed.

I think the TMZ coverage of Barbara Walters was mean spirited..I saw her interviewed quite some time ago and she said when she first went on TV, she was told she had to clean up her Brooklyn type accent..

I never have believed her speech was an accent, but in fact a speech impetiment, truth be known.

She is an absolute bore on The View..Whoppi and that nappy navy ship mop of a hair due is just plain ugly, along with her stupid glasses she wears on top of her nostrils..Barbara should give Whoopi a headsup or a kick in the butt and tell her to clean up her appearance or put a paper bag over her head as that would be an improvement to her looks..

anyone who watches or supports tmz is most likely a closet cutter with out any concept of how a intellgent human function on a day to day basis. i use to think tmz was just some show for lonely sad people to wash away their pathetic begin, but now i know that is much deeper than that. i can now see that anyone who watches tmz must have some major issues with their own self-estem. i hope the country of america will turn their backs to this posin and realize it is nothing more ghonrrea finger sauce topped off with a hersey squrit fart.

Whether you like Barbara or not is not the case. The last time I checked it's uncool to pick on someone's speech impedament. Your average moral citizen would cringe at the notion of person laughing at someone who is mentally retarded, has autism, in a wheel chair, etc. Just because she's a celebritiy doesn't give you the right to pick on her physical disability. If it was Michael J. Fox TMZ would be off the air. This is total BS. And as for you who made comments about The View...stop hatin' The been on air for over 10 years that's enough in itself. She's not a washed out reporter as someone mentioned above...errr um she's the only journalist in the world to interview some of the worlds most influentual people, politicians, celebrities, heros, etc. Again stop hatin' and this was just low down mean. I don't think Barbara realizes her treatment of people such as Kathy Griffen and yes even Hefner's girlfriends when they
appeared on her show and many others is not really kind or cool either!

Like them or not there is no reason for her to treat them as if they have some lower class contagious disease.
