46. Maybe if our lazy ass white colonist forefathers had simply taken the initiative to build their own country then race would not be as prevelant an issue as it is today. Hell, I wonder how many blacks would actually be in America today had it not been for slavery.

We as white people should really slow down and think this race thing through. We dont like to be accused of using racism but truth to be told, our entire social structure is predicated on some form of racism. I find it hard to believe that the majority of power positions in this country are held by old white men and no one from any other race qualifies to fill these seats.

We're barely fifty years out of the civil rights movement. You can scream equal opportunity for everyone until your blue in the face but truth to be told, it takes a little longer than that to establish a strong cultural base.

Racism does still exist on many levels because unfortunately that "system" that was implemented hundreds of years ago is as suttle and efficient now, as it was then.

As for Cathy Jones, true, her response may not have been the most tactful approach to take but atleast she does not lack the strength of her convictions. Too bad the same cant be said of some of the posters here that make racist remarks but lack the courage to say these things outright to the members of the offending race(s).

And one last thing, white people, stop complaining about how blacks get to use the N word and we cant. Lets face it. We lost the right to use that word a long time ago.
