Dog -- I'm No Imus!

TMZ has reached out to Dog the Bounty Hunter for comment on his racist rant, caught on audiotape and published by the National Enquirer. We were told Dog would not say anything, but we were referred to his pastor.
Dog the bounty hunter
Pastor Tim Storey, an African-American, told us that he spoke with Dog, who cried for 30 minutes, saying, "I'm shocked, I'm wrong I repent. Can you believe, Tim, that I'm going to be put in the same category as Imus."

Pastor Storey, whom USA Today has referred to as "Pastor to the stars," told TMZ, "I was shocked, because I don't know that to be Duane." He went on, "I felt that he had to be accountable to what he said. When I asked him what took place, why he said it, he said that he was angry with his son about many things."

The pastor, who performed Dog and Beth's wedding ceremony continued, "The subject of his son's girlfriend came up, and in his anger he then attacked that relationship and then therefore challenged the girl by saying she wasn't good enough."

Pastor Story said, "What shocked me was that he used the N word. I know he's not a racist. He's been to black churches with me to help inner-city kids."

The pastor said he talked to Dog three times today and he apologized, saying he wasn't angry at the girl, it was anger toward his son.

676. Why don't all you guys who are judging 'dog' look up the "n-word" in the dictionary to find the true definition. The word does NOT mean a black person. Leave 'dog' alone!!! He said NO MORE (but A WHOLE LOT LESS!!!) than the hip hop "artists" and black comics. Can't a man who has done a lot of good for society make a mistake and be forgiven? If not, can you really call yourself an AMERICAN?

677. Dog did not insult the hair (well deserved) by Imus. He insulted the color of the her skin.
Maybe he should have been Imus. New job, more money and a vacation.

680. Ok please understand what i am saying and read this comment. Saying the N word is not racist but yeah telling your son his BLACK girlfriend is not allowed in the house is. This is totally racist. Please look in the dictionary and see the word racist and you can tell the difference between DOGG and IMUS. Im a black female and i dont care about what IMUS said it was funny and he was joking like he always do. DOGG is a racist and who ever cant see that is blind or they are racist also. If she was white she would have been ok. The fact that she was a black woman had he heated up. He stressed that. Right is right and wrong is wrong lets be fair and real ok.

681. At 62 years old and having traveled and lived in several countries around the world for over 35 years, I find people of all shades of color to be racist to a certain degree, mostly due to cultural indifference or pure ignorance. I have also discovered personally that facial features and skin tone is only superficial. As one race; "The Human Race," we are a diversified lot with the same wants and needs throughout every area of the globe. I have come to appreciate the uniqueness of each culture and am proud that I am a multi-ethnic person of a common "Human Race." Those that come to learn and appreciate people as individuals do not catagorize by color or ethnicity but by one's merits.

682. You know what? As far as I'm concerned, I don't care how many African Americans you've helped, I don't care if your pastor is African American. You used a word that is absolutely disgraceful for no reason. And if this guy helps so many African Americans, THEN HE SHOULD KNOW BETTER. It would NOT fly in any African American community. Granted, there is a double standard, b/c if an African American person said it, he'd feel some backlash, but not as much b/c of his race, but at the same token, you still get called out on it. Go ahead, A&E, cancel the showsince it's not about the money, right?). Serrves him right.
