47. This is the most horrible thing I have ever seen. The USA stops giving items to other countries that do horribe things all the time, so why doesn't the goverment help out and do something about this too? I understand that they need to make a living but if you are going to kill anything there are better ways of doing it than this way. For real, Japan has always been a uncaring country, a killing country and this just make them worse than I thought they were. Thier government needs to stop this and now!

I agree with most of what you said. But the people in the country that the US invade can think that the US train dolphin to kill their people. You have your own thinking, they should be able to have their own thinking too. Who are you to decide this animal is smart, we can't eat them. That animal is dumb, yes we can eat them. God create human and animal. Animal are food for human. Regardless of what kind. It's a personal choice. Just because your kid like to watch the dolphin show at Disney Land, it doesn't mean that everybody have to like dolphin.
History has been proven again and again, the American are always trying to stick their nose into other country business.

54. You are also forgetting that dolphins are very intelligent creatures. It isn't like swatting a fly. Americans may hunt deer, but we don't usually torture them and allow them to suffer. I have seen vidoes of Japanese fishermen slaughtering dolphins and Orca. They cut open these dolphins and leave them on the ground, writhing in pain. They eventually bleed to death. The things these people do are very horrible and disturbing.

There are cultures all over the world that slaughter mammals unmercifully and it stinks and we need to evolve past it but that's no excuse for these horrid "jap" slurs, for goodness sake WWII ended quite a while ago in case you've been asleep for 70 yrs. That said, I hate activists but these people risked their lives to bring this to the attention of the world and I for one had no idea this was going on. This is the difference between intelligent activist and terrorists like PETA and Greenpeace. We really need to leave Mother Nature alone and I can't believe with all we know about dolphins that people still actually eat them. sickening. oh and to people who bitch that we need to pay attention to human suffering, oh shut up already. Apparently you don't actually READ CNN, or perhaps you just skim. It's not my opinion or decision that Dolphins are smart, it's scientific fact. All animals are intelligent in one form or another, however, as a human race SCIENTISTS from all over have discovered in which ways this intelligence can benefit our race and environment. The Japanese fishermen and government who regard these dolphins as merely "fish" are the ignorant ones.

Some animals are food for people now, but animals have been around a lot longer than humans. This is not my opinion, this is scientific fact. True that humans are higher on the food chain than animals, but that in no way means that being our food is their ONLY purpose which is what you're stating. And food or not, no one and nothing deserves to die that way! If they want to eat them, which with the high mercury levels they shouldn't be, then have them set STRICT regulations so that it's in the very least human. I wonder if the people of Japan know that they're eating Dolphin meat? Most have no knowledge that these slaughters take place as the Fishermen and Japanese government hide what they are doing. Why hide? Because they know what they are doing is wrong.

Also, did I mention that I have a child? Did I mention that my child likes dolphins? In case you were wondering, I do have a child who's actually never seen a Dolphin or a Dolphin show let alone been to Disneyland. And I'm certainly not campaining for the world to like Dolphins. Your comments regarding the above show your ignorance and arrogance.

America is trying to make the WORLD a better place to live in. And once again, it's not just America; it's other countries around the world as well. There are many injustices around the world and many other countries seek the US's help because we have the resources to accomplish the task at hand.
