Rev. Al to Dog Chapman -- March With Me!

TMZ has obtained a letter that Reverend Al Sharpton has sent to Duane "Dog" Chapman, after Dog contacted him yesterday. Here's the full text:

Dear Mr. Chapman:

I received your call while on the road promoting a March I am leading on the United States Justice Department on November 16th in Washington, DC, against hate crimes and racial attacks around the country. The revelation of your conversation came at a time that is most frightening to a lot of people because we are in a state of crisis with the proliferation of racial attacks, hate crimes, and bias incidents in the United States and abroad. In fact, Abraham H. Foxman, the Executive Director of the Anti-Defamation League and I released an unprecedented joint statement today because of this climate. Even more concerning to me though is that the Justice Department and the federal government have failed to intervene in cases all over the country of racial bigotry and hate which is the reason we are having our march on Nov. 16th in front of the Justice Department.

As a minister I would be inclined to meet with you despite the racist and grotesque things I heard you say, but I am not willing to rearrange my schedule around the country building up for this march to do so. If you wish to meet with me somewhere on the road that is fine, but be assured that I will not sanitize the kind of hate language that leads to the hate action that has left so many people vulnerable in America today. The company that airs the show has the right to take steps by any means when there is a public display of a character of bigotry. We did not call on your company's action but we will not call against your company's action, because what was said in private is now public, and they have a right to deal with their public perception.

If you are sincere that this does not reflect you, you should not only meet with us, but you should march with us on November 16th and call on the government of the United States to protect people, that unlike you don't have publicist, don't have lawyers, and don't have any protection. They used to have the protection of the United States government.

In Progress,
Reverend Al Sharpton
President of National Action Network

91. Dog is ignorant, clearly. What he said was disgusting, but I have to say I haven't heard the long version because all the links just play the two minute one. Either way, he's a jerk, but calling him things like "redneck" and "white trash" make the name caller just as bad as Dog. He may be worthless as a human being, but since he is, who really cares what he thinks about anything? If he wants to apologize fine, but who the hell made Al Sharpton the voice for all black people? I'm black and I promise you he doesn't speak for me and apologizing to him (I think he's only sorry because it's out in the open now) and thinking you've squared it away with whoever else you offended is worthless. And his son taping this is trashy too. Clearly the threat had already been made because Dog mentioned the Enquirer so there was obviously a set up. But how dumb is Dog for falling right into the trap and having a phone conversation instead of doing it in person? A&E can do what they want, and they have. Dog can figure it out from here. But his pastor is stupid!

92. The only admirable person in this whole case is his son Tucker. Dog is a dawg. Maybe he can go to rehab... Do they have that for white trash?

93. LET THE ONE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE, OTHERWISE, KEEP YOUR JUDGEMENT TO YOURSELF. All you want to judge, but that is only for God to do. He has made mistakes and paid the price for them, just like he is doing now. He said something in anger and now everyone wants to get in on the action. Control your own lives and surrender to God. Once you are a christian then you will know to pray for people rather than tear them to shreds. I am of mixed race and know for a fact that racism sees no color; you get it from different colors and in my case from your own color. If he was African American no one would be talking about this right now. Educate yourselves before passing judgement. Know that our countries problems do not lie with one bounty hunter on an island.

94. Oh no not another thing for this country to endure, a march on DC by AL
geeeeeeeeeeeze sorry but I think many in the usa are just sick and tired of
this never ending stuff.. really... YOU CAN"T write a law that will change
the soul of a person.

All you can do is by example change their minds
and you do that by not marching demanding more stuff that many already
this is too much already giving to one race over all others.

Read the post (#32)that I just left for CAROL.
you and her are both racist pigs.

I THINK YOU JUST CALLED US PIGS WOW THAT IS RACIST OF YOU!
Maybe you should be at work or doing something productive w/ yourself and not personally attacking people. I was talking about our society in a whole. That is the difference here...

96. Everyone is talking about Al Sharpton and what he has to say. But maybe if Dogg wouldn't have CALLED Sharpton, he wouldn't be involved in this. Obviously Dogg wanted Sharpton involved or he never would have called him. Why should Al Sharpton be talked about, I'm no Sharpton fan myself, but whenever these celebrities make these racial rants they always call Sharpton for help. Quit giving him the power by calling him to apologize. He doesn't represent the whole black race, he only represents himself. So quit calling him to apologize. Maybe if people if they are going to apologize, apologize to the black race, not Al Sharpton. Going to a march at this point is obsolete. It comes off as being fake. If this wouldn't have happened Dogg's ass wouldn't have thought about going to a march, so why do it now. That isn't going to help anything at this piont. Whats said has been said and thats it.
Lastly, whether it was a public or private conversation, Dogg should have been smarter than that. When your in the public eye and are considered a celebrity you should keep your guard up at all times. People are just waiting for you to f- up, even your family. He should have had enough sense not to say that to his son. He should have known he would get mad, he is insulting his girlfriend. Whats done is done now. Too Bad Dogg.

99. It is interesting how now a days everytime someone comes up with an inappropriate statement we all have to bow down, kneel to Rev. Sharpton and J. Jackson. Gee..... I wonder if this goes the other way around after all there are plenty of racist jokes from blacks on white everyday, on TV in the music world, etc. along with their profanity laden wrap (crap) music and I do not see anybody getting all rowled up about it. They call each other deaming names but that is OK. We are not allowed to do that, we 'is bad. Let us see who should we nominate for them to bow down and kneel to? Oh yes must be Bill Clinton the 1st "Black President". What a joke!

Read up on the REAL Rev. Al Sharpton. AX EVASION, TAWANA BRAWLEY: 1987, CENTRAL PARK JOGGER: In 1989 calling the victim a whore because she was raped by blackmen who were convicted through DNA by the way and he kept insisting they were innocent, CROWN HEIGHTS/ “DIAMOND MERCHANTS”: In 1991 in anti-jewish statements, FREDDY’S FASHION MART/”WHITE INTERLOPER”: 1995 trying to drive white business out, FBI TAPES/COCAINE: In 2002 and the list goes on and on.

I will tell you who my home and my TV is closed to. All of the phony leaders of the black community who want the fire to continue so they can fill their pockets with money and fame while claiming they are working for 'tha people. Like Bill Cosby said "We have to take our Community Back", I agree take it back. Bill said: "We cannot blame the white people any longer. It's NOT about color... It's NOT about color...It's about behavior!!!!!!!!!

100. Mr. Chapman is well loved and respected. When it comes to his family he is very passionate. I am sure his words do not reflect his character. Although what he said is not nice or something that should of been said in the first place. Mr . Chapman is human and makes mistakes. God forgives so shall we!

101. Rev Al is a hypocrite. With his history of racism and bigotry he has a lot of nerve playing America`s confessor. No one should have to grovel and bow to the Rev. No One! And as far as him being a Rev. He got that title as a kid when kid preachers were all the rage and please tell me where his church is???????????????? The man is a fake and a scammer.

102. I will never call al or jesse reverends, because reverends do not act and talk the way they do. Reverends love all people, no matter what race they are. These two love only one color, and that is black.
They have a lot of nerve wanting to be Reverends, and pretending that they are.

103. I have enjoyed watching the show for a while now. I respected what Dog does but i certainly can no longer respect him. You just lost a LOYAL fan and i hope the network never airs the show again.

104. Neither Jesse or Al have bona fide Rev titles. Jesse got a quickie title after King died and then got a fakey degree from a collage his son is a board member of.
