Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the LAPD is conducting an investigation into a traffic mishap Friday, when Britney Spears ran over an L.A. County Sheriff deputy's foot. We're told the "traffic collision complaint" was filed by the Sheriff's Department and the LAPD is conducting an "active investigation." We're told the LAPD is looking at the possibility of hit and run.
The incident occurred as Brit was leaving the L.A. County Courthouse after her custody hearing.
UPDATE: The LAPD tells TMZ "The LAPD is aware that Britney Spears was leaving the courthouse. We are also aware that a deputy was injured. The LAPD is unable to confirm the details on the deputy's injury because the investigation is in its initial stage."
There is not going to be a good defense,. She knew first of all, she was going to be mobbed and second she was going to be emotional coming out of court. No excuse not to have a driver. I can't believe how stupid she is.
How can you blame Britney, the place was chaotic. Anyone blaming her ,try yourself to get a car around all those people, mybe she couldn't hear the cop telling her witch way to go with all the chaos going on. She definitely deserves the benifit of the doubt on this , weather you love her or hate her.
Look, dumbazz Britney supporters, she could have someone drive her to her court appearances because she obviously can't drive and she can't control herself. How easy would it have been to hire a driver for someone with all of her money? She wants attention and she likes to act in an aggressive way with her car (very white trash, btw) and hit parked cars and run over feet. She is clearly an arrogant, self-absorbed evil creep who cares nothing about her kids or anyone else in the world but Brit and Brit alone.
yes, she does seem to have really bad luck... its what she brings on herself. I am just curious to see if after the divorce is finalized if she will leave the country???
the way I see it the cops a hero - if she had to park in the parking lot like the rest of the people, there could of been 6-7 people killed by Britney -

Seriously I think it's about time they cut her a break! Do I believe she causes most of the drama for herself....yes! But can we blame a girl for running over people's feet when there around 50 flashes of light blinding her and so many photographers around her car she can barely ever get out! My advice is for her to stay at home....but in instances of court cases I think a little crowd control might be in order! My advice to the photographers....BACK THE HELL UP, you know she doesn't have the best track record with driving or maybe you are just waiting to sue like everyone else!
First of all, why would anyone have their feet that close to a car????? Therefore, this should be considered an accident. The girl gets mobbed so much, regardless if she brings it on herself. She probably didn't even know that she ran over the foot, so how can it be considered a hit and run.
There should be a law that the paps can not come 3 feet of these celebraties. It will not stop until someone gets killed again........and that is a pure shame!!!!
The cops above others should know the hordes of paparazzi around Britney Spears. It was merely an accident, and if the cop who claims it wasn't doesnt think otherwise then she shouldn't be a cop.
