Thanks for the Free Album, Radiohead!

radioheadMore than six out of 10 people who downloaded the new Radiohead album, "In Rainbows," did so for free after the band gave users the freedom to pay whatever they wanted. How does "nothing" sound?

Of the people that did fork over some cash, the average price paid was about $6. Nearly 1.2 million people downloaded the album -- do the math; that's a total of $2.736 mil.

That's not nearly as much as they would have made selling the album normally, but then again, they don't have to pay a record label any dues. Radiohead, stickin' it to the man!

16. jesus, h christ, who here has paid for a single piece of music they didn't like since the inception of mp3s. the fact of the matter is the record companies are moronic isoar. the ice age of the past. because they are greedy pricks. like real estate agents of the 80's and ot-00's they expect to make an s load of money becuase of the institutions in place for them to do so. i personally havent paid for any album i didn't really want in 10 years. as soon as i buy the old fashioned way i throw away the package/cd or give it to a friend or sell it on ebay but i make sure i get the track i want on i-tunes. i own zero cd's. its like saying i own vinyl. unless you are a collector or a dj, what is the point, another piece of s you have to worry about storing. tmz by the way is owned by a conglomarate record comany so it isn't any wonder they'd propogate negative gains to a model they have no idea how to satisfy; like virgin about to f a supermodel.... you cant handle it baby. tmz... your trash is entertaining... but if you want to succeeed, its not your rosebud mentalities to a already bitter audience which will make you successfull. morons. i'm already tempted to delete you because of the stupid ass commercials in your vids you'd placed the past few weeks. the old model is dead. trying to ressurect or modify it will only lead to your demise; and we all want you to die...

17. I paid ₤20 cause I thought it sucked people were taking advantage of them and paying nothing. I LOVE the album and am into Rainbows so it was well worth it. I payed more than RRP because I was given choice. Raidohead are the ultimate definition of optimism and HOPE. If you have the FAITH to step outside the boat you do come out ahead.... JustDoIt. It takes guts and these guys have it.

I'm not into freebies. Why I'd suck at being famous.

18. i think the people who payed anything less than 6 dollars for the album, and like their music, should be ashamed of themselves
