Fabio to Clooney: I Can't Believe It's Your Finger

George Clooney and Fabio got into a little scuffle in a Los Angeles restaurant over the weekend, and TMZ has the blow-by-blow!
George Clooney, Fabio
TMZ obtained photos taken at Madeo's, where Clooney and Fabio later got into a shoving match. Sources inside tell us that several women who had won a dinner with Fabio were sitting at his table snapping photos of the "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" hunk, when Clooney apparently thought they were shooting pix of him -- and gave them the finger! When George questioned the group about shooting pics of him in a private restaurant, Fabio came to their defense -- and allegedly, it got a little physical.

Don't mess with Fabio!

466. Okay. What in the living hell was with the 5 second segment that aired on Extra or Access Hollywood tonight that claims George was out with his cousin Miguel Ferrer last week driving down Hollywood Boulevard and saw a bunch of women screaming at him and he was supposedly "humbled" because he was "unaware" that they were hookers. It was some quote made by Clooney himself. Now wait just a second ... you want to tell me Clooney can't recognize a hooker even though he's dating an escort???? Give me a break!!! What an absolute lie!!!

467. George Clooney is a talented, good-looking actor. That makes it even more confusing to try to comprehend why he comes off as an attention-seeking self absorbed whiny baby every time he speaks or appears without a script.

Fabio, on the other hand, is mostly just good looking. He has made a career out of it, been moderately successful in that career, and doesn't really pretend to be anything more than a male model of yesteryear. He still has a few fans and enough money/endorsement deals to live on, that seems to be enough for him. I did meet him a few years ago, he was vacationing at a small spa-resort in Colorado where I was at a retreat with friends. He was polite, considerate, and didn't seem to be particularly "into" himself, just a regular guy on vacation with his girlfriend.

So my humble opinion is, talent or no talent, the world does not revolve around George Clooney, and he needs to grow up. His temper and his prissy hissy fits are his worst enemy, if he had the class to match his talent and his looks no one in Hollywood or anywhere else could touch him.

468. Wow - Jed please tell us what you know instead of wasting space. Please enlighten us with your knowledge about something., even something about GC. At least Tracey came up with some intelligent comments.

I use to work for Microsoft and always thought it was a great company.

469. Tracey,

I disagree with you.

You're on this board reading about GC and Fabio and you are accusing other people of having too much time on their hands?

I've met many college educated people who are incapable of complex reasoning and also CAN'T fix pipes or prepare meals. I went to a great school and would not trade the experience for anything but there are too many other factors that define successful people - drive, determination, ambition, leadership, management, and communication skills. Some things can't be taught in any school high school or college.

Education is only one very small piece of the pie.

GC - seems to have gotten where is today on his drive, determination and ambition. Good for him.

470. Hi 454 - What the F

Just a clarification. I didn't see the Extra segment, but the story you mentioned didn't happen last week. If I remember correctly, he was out riding with his cousin Mel and it really happened, but it was over 20 years ago when he first came to Hollywood from Kentucky. I can believe it happened because at that time George was the naive Midwesterner just come to Hollywood. And I can believe that living in Hollywood for all these years not only has jaded him, but has helped to develop his sense of entitlement. I don't know what motivates him to date the type of women he does, but it just means his PR guy earns EVERY DIME he gets from George. Most of them do.

You are correct, the story, had it happened now wouldn't make sense -- he's quite aware of the type of women he dates. Those of us who are fans of his films and admire his humanitarian work are stumped by his more recent choices in the female companion department.

As to this incident I just wonder how many times photos were taken before he lost it. I know I'd get irritated if someone were taking flash pictures in a restaurant while I was trying to eat. Dark restaurant, blinding flash, it'd tick me off too.

But giving the finger was out of line. Asking to move to another table would have been appropriate. Asking Fabio to ask his dinner companions to stop taking pictures would have been more polite. Offering to take a few photos with them and then asking them to stop would have been more gentlemanlike and would have gone a long way in helping to increase his popularity with his fans. (I realize it would not help increase anything with those who don't like him, his acting or his politics but that's not who he's disappointed with his actions.)

I think the article noted George was drinking. No excuse but certainly explains the lack of good manners and gentlemanly behavior. Perhaps George should take a look at all the times he's gotten into altercations with others. It's often been reported he's gotten into scraps when he's drinking, Maybe that's what he needs to be looking at and not worrying about Fabio's dinner companion's lack of good manners. I think it's crass, as someone else has mentioned, to be taking pictures in a restaurant or talking on the phone etc. Bugs the hell out of me when someone does it near me and I'm not a celebrity who would be constantly exposed to this type of thing.

Both should go back to their corners, take a hard look in a mirror and ask themselves if they are truly happy with the people they have become.

The pursuit of fame comes with a high price - these two made absolute fools of themselves in a public place - which many people have done - but now their foolishness and the pictures, have made it around the world. Both should get over themselves.

474. Oh George - that was just wrong!...

I guess people are entitled to have a day off, and maybe it came out the wrong way. Just because he's usually a nice guy to people, I'm going to think that he was just having a bad day and acted a bit off.

it was tasteless and unwarranted.

477. Hi Doug Ross:

From the American Heritage Dictionary:

Libel n.

1. A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation.
2. The act of presenting such material to the public.

I think your comment (posted twice - gotta love that copy / paste feature) is interesting. But I don't think you've really looked at the entire definition of the word before posting.

I think the most important part of the definition of libel is the part above that says, "that damages a person's reputation."

Now how are George and Fabio damaged by commentary here?

Both have gotten world-wide exposure from their shoving match (one needs it the other already had it but most likely won't be yelling about getting it).

Is anyone here going to stop liking Fabio if they are a Fabio fan? I think not.

Is someone not going to go see George's next film if he/she is a fan based on comments here?

I think not.

I am of the opinion that many celebrities bring on their bad press by their own bad choices and actions.

I'm of the opinion still, if you don't want something on the internet - like compromising pictures of your private parts - then don't pose for them (yes, I"m talking about you Ms. Larson). Check out mavrixonline and search for Sarah. She obviously posed for those pics. No one is damaging any reputation that she hasn't already damaged herself by the questionable choice she made.

I'm of the opinion still, if you don't want people ridiculing your actions then act like an adult when you are in public. If you are a celebrity used to being in the public eye and know that cameras follow you every where, yet you can't seem to control your actions after you've had a few drinks then don't drink while you're in public. No reputation damaged that hasn't already been damaged by the celebrity's own actions. And this one could be directed at many, many celebrities.

As to other commentary - I may not have read all of it but most of the comments are opinions - some are crudely given - some with a little more thought. Some are funny - some not.

But I'll bet none (regarding George, Fabio and Ms. Larson) are libelous. Really couldn't say about the Microsoft / Apple related comments as I do not have enough information to comment on it and therefore have not.

But thanks for your posting - it made me check to make sure MY comments were not and I found that there is just too much evidence to back up my comments. :-)

478. Fabio is jealous of George because George owns a villa on Lake Como in Italy...prime real estate that Fabio could never afford in his native Italy.

480. Hey Doug Ross - let me save you the trouble of copying and pasting again! ROTFLMAO Here ya go! :-)

"Howdy folks,

I object to the extreme level of libel on this board. Go to iRove dot US if you want to see a video of George W. Bush "flipping the bird." That video is definitely NOT doctored. I agree with those who say that this photo of George Clooney looks PhotoShopped.

Secondly, stop posting bogus comments about George Clooney's background. He was neither born nor raised in Hollywood. He grew up in Kentucky and went to college in Kentucky. The notion that his career was the result of "nepotism" is a false one. Yes, Rosemary Clooney was his aunt. However, by the time George Clooney arrived in Hollywood in 1984, Rosemary Clooney was ancient history in terms of Hollywood contacts.

Also, if nepotism made him famous, then why did he spends years toiling in horrible small roles? After 10 years of "paying his dues," and honing his craft, he finally gained fame on "E.R." Anyone who doubts that George Clooney is now a highly-skilled actor, simply compare one of his lousy perfromances from the 1980's with his brilliant performances in "The Perfect Storm," "Syriania," "Three Kings," and about a dozen other great films from the past 10 years.

Doug Ross"

BTW you've forgotten to add his performance currently in Michael Clayton. He might actually get nominated for this one. I found his performance fascinating. But his personal life choices and his actions when drinking leave much to be desired.

And I wouldn't give a rat's ass IF he wasn't out there pointing the finger at the foilbles of others. You can't question the ethics and actions of others when your own ethics and actions are questionable. That's the only reason I have issue with these types of incidents and don't kid yourself folks, his personal choices DO matter. His actions DO matter. It takes a lot of energy to have ethics. It takes a lot to be the type of person who is an example and not someone who is of the type - "Do as I say, not as I do." I have issue with those type of people.

So if George wants to pick petty fights with a body builder who could probably pick him up and wipe his ass all over the room, then fine, let him do that. But then the next week, don't get up in front of a press conference and tell the world what they should be doing. If you look like a fool and you act like a fool in public, especially because you've been drinking, then you take the chance of losing your credibility. Credibility once lost is rarely regained. The respect of your peers and your fans, once lost will be difficult to regain.

Yea, I know George doesn't read this but can be damn sure someone from his PR firm does! Pass it on Stan....

BTW - except for this incident - has anyone heard anything on Fabio. Maybe he's been on the picket lines trying to get his picture taken again. Just a thought.
