35. I was sitting (on the toilet smoking) Parliament the day that the Queen spoke. I heard her say these words with passion:

"Diamonds are forever, they are all I need to please me, they can stimulate or tease me, they won't leave in the night, I've no fear they might desert me....".

The Queen has devoted her life to keeping the country's spirit up and gives advice to the Prime Minister. She plays a large role as Head of the Church of England, as well as representing the UK around the world. She may or may not have had a role in the death of Princess Diana, but anyone who reads about her or finds out what she did during WWII in terms of participating. She trained as a auxiliary driver, drove military trucks, changed tires, etc. She is the only female member of the British royal family to ever serve in the military--ever. She may be an old lady now, but she's done more in her life to perform her duties as the Queen and she's paid the price with her family. There's more to her than meets the eye.....underneath the bling.

38. I think that most of the crown jewels are hundreds of years old, so its not like she just went out and bought 75 million in jewelry. Plus they aren't hers personally they belong to the monarchy so they are just passed from ruler to ruler- kind of like someones grandmothers engagement ring that goes from family member to family member only hers are ALOT more impressive!

41. I've heard those crowns and capes are ultra heavy. How long can she hold them up. And, don't get me wrong. I admired the Pope...I'm not Catholic. But he wanted to show people to persevere under enormous illness and adverse situations.

42. how can any of you comment about the queen when most of you have never been out of the US? the queen doesn't sit idle and collect millions of pounds per year while her subjects 'pull their own teeth.' she and the royal family are the main reason why slack-jaws visit london and contribute money to england's tourism. that money, along with taxes collected, go towards the UK's superior national health system, which covers a vast majority of dental care.

any time those of you who think you have the facts want to leave a comment, why not do a bit of fact checking? this way, you won't sound like such know-it-alls, and your opinion will hold some weight.
